Buell Ulysses = Saab 900
Both sporty, weird, and discontinued.

Both small, efficient, underpowered, and very stylish in a retro way.

Aprilia Dorsoduro and the Lamborghini Urus. Both are exotic Italian, can go off road, but shine best on tarmac. I have also seen the same number of them driving around: zero.

But this thread does seem to be evolving (devolving?) into that other thread.

Wait, what was the difference in the first place? I only posted here because I read this part of the forum and not the other one.

Slow, some say underpowered, but both will go almost anywhere, carry a ton of crap, and can be fixed out in the middle of nowhere with some wire, duct tape and a BFH.

BWM 1200GS → Range Rover Discovery : Can get through lots of stuff and it will cost you almost as much as a HD.
I can see a bit of this. mine is similar but there really isn't much of an exact match as one aspect is lacking.

R1200GS - Jeep SWB Convertible. only thing is the Jeep is more capable off road than the GS while the opposite is true for street. both are sporty and even classy in a rugged sense. both are icons. both bring the "I once owned a jeep/bmw moto" or other similar comments and are in general conversation starters. both are relatively capable of taking you damn near anywhere you want to go... the one aspect that is different is that while the Jeep is fun to drive in the mountains on the roads (pop the top back, crank up the music and drive) it is not capable of handling the turns with such panache. really about the main difference. ok then otoh the GS doesn't handle the desert sand washes as well as the Jeep so maybe it is closer to even.
