Eek Thanks for the great read!

Holy Moly! Almost 600 miles in a day on DRZs! That earns you three chromoly steel butts fresher!

I'm also afflicted with "horse stable syndrome", so I understand, sorta. But 588 miles on a DRZ, ON PAVEMENT! I don't think iI could do that.

Trust me, you can do it if the alternative is paying thousands of dollars for a one-way rental truck.

My ass hurt so badly at one point when we were heading north that I pulled over and just slumped on the bars. Nobody has ever mistaken the DRZ for a touring bike so we knew what we were getting into.

To anybody who's interested, here are the unedited tracks from our trip.

Thanks for your GPS tracks

Zina,
I am glad that you got done with your ride report. I especially liked the pictures of Simon and his inner thoughts. The "land of disenchantment" mirrored my thoughts about New Mexico. On my trip, trying to ride in the Monsoon season made things a lot harder than they needed to be.

Thanks for your GPS tracks. I am keeping a log of them for my next GDR trip.

Cheers,
Doug

Thanks for the tracks, I'm planning on the CDR on my Wee (more comfort on the pavement, more work in the dirt....and no $$$$ RentATruck!) next year.
