Infection issues in my incision appear to have been resolved.
However, as far as the leg healing, he said it was to soon to begin bearing weight, so I am stuck with the walker for a while longer. Not what I really wanted to hear today. Go back next week as the stitches were not ready to be taken out today. We will discuss my leg in more detail next appointment but don't expect getting rid of the walker for a few more weeks.

It has been rough!

An infection developed in the upper incision area, we experimented with numerous antibiotics as well as IV infusion therapy to no avail, I had suggested earlier I thought there was a hematoma near the incision site, eventually the Dr. decided surgical intervention was the best course of treatment, Alan felt good about the debridement and wound cleansing surgery On March 20th. All went well, a hematoma was discovered and evacuated, and the area was irrigated with saline solution, the area that encapsulated the hematoma was stitched up with special stitches to close up the area. The hematoma was confined to that area, so we have been told the hip joint and the femur bone were not exposed to the infection.

We are cautiously optimistic , the PA's have been pleased with the progress, as are we. No swelling or inflamation! Alan is getting around well with a walker, we burned our yard waste after we got home from the appt.
He loves using Meanie (our suzuki sidekick) to get around our place.

We thank you all for your ongoing support!

Yeah, I would prefer to be reading your latest ride report, but this surely beats the previous update.

Hang in there, the trails are patiently waiting.

Eight months since the break? Man I feel for you! If you ever want to take that toyhauler somewhere while you are on the mend, let me know and I will come over and get it ready for you and hook it up. I'm only 15 minutes away. This weekend looks pretty good for a campout.

Holy cow, Batman! When will it all end? Good thing is that you have a couple of months until the really good weather. Keep the positive energy flowing. This too shall pass.

I hope the good news keep coming. I can't wait to see you on 2 wheels instead of a walker.
