VF700S Cafe Racer Build Video Series

Hi folks. My name is Dino and I post videos each week on hackaweek.com and on my youTube channel, HackAWeekTV. I've been working on a VF700S cafe bike project for several months now and it has turned into quite a video saga. One of my subscribers suggested I share it here so... if you have 5 or 6 hours to burn, grab a beer, sit back and enjoy.

Yup,

I'm the FF'r that suggested Dino share his work here. Excellent series on epoxy Fiberglass fab, troubleshooting and bringing an old machine back to life, hints for the electrically clueless with a warped sense of humor thrown in.

Lot's to learn from this guy, he's good!!

In other words...our kinda guy!!

Take a look, I'm sure you'll be impressed.....

I'm a subscriber

I have been following this series for the last couple of months. I am so looking forward to seeing how that gas tanks turns out. Thank you for taking the time to make these videos.

Thanks for watching! I should have the next episode uploaded later today. I'm aiming to get the bike on the road by Aug 25th so I can drive it to the Bull City Rumble in Durham Aug 31st and enter it in the bike show on Main Street.

Thanks for watching! Working on the bike this morning and uploading Part 15 later today. My goal is to have the bike done in time for the Bull City Rumble in Durham August 31st.

I'm watching with interest too.... mostly for the fiberglass work (I'm a MC mechanic myself, have refurbed LOTS of neglected bikes). The few times I've messed with the stuff it seemed like I was more covered in it than whatever I was trying to fix/make, and those parts were eventually scrapped. :/

I do like the general profile you've managed though, looks like it'll be a good looking (hinged in the middle, like all Sabers) bike.

That is one Well Fed cat you've got there... its pounces (if it can?) kill from crushing the prey, right?

LOL... everyone loves outtakes. And my wife said (she's been stuck watching with me on the main TV) that it was about damn time you did an experiment with the foam.

I finally got around to rebuilding the front brake calipers last evening. The floating pin was totally seized on one side! The whole procedure will be in part 16 this weekend. :)

I have poured acetone in a styrofoam cup before to watch it melt so I knew it would work, but it was so cool to see it melt in that little box. Is the box the same thickness the gas tank will be? I like the taillight but I would smooth out the line of the foam a little more. Looking forward to the next episode!

I saw your vids- interesting. I have been into V4s for a long time, like what you have done with the body. You been on the www.v4hondabbs.com site?

Good job and well worth watching. I had a VF45S as well as a VF65S, both purchased new back in the 80s. I should never have moved up to the bigger model. The 750 had plenty of power and was more fun to ride. I'm sure you will like the smooth power.
