Wicked Just another TAT ride report, on a Harley DirtBag

spot tracker link

https://spotwalla.com/tripViewer.php...4&showInfo=yes

This past winter, I was reading about the trans america trail, & had not seen where anyone had done it on a harley.

Its the trans AMERICA trail, and I think its time an american bike did it.

(maybe it has been done, but it hasnt been done by ME!)

So, what to do it on?

I love my dirtster, but I've always had this weird urge to build a dual sport bike out of a bagger.

My newest monstrosity, the DirtBag!

I'm heading to the Horizons Unlimited meet in NC today, then sunday I will start the TAT.

I hope the bike is up to it, as usual, my build time ran out, & I havent been able to put many miles on it, been in europe all summer.

I had a few electrical problems, but hope those are sorted out now.

Yes, I know theres some trails out west that may not be possible, but I will give them a try. If it was easy, everyone would do it.

Doug

Aye...oh sure and of course you can do it on your Harley... like you said; out West-- maybe still but....give it a go....

Did it on mine in 2011...

Once you have slain the TAT..do the TLH(transLabHIghway) before they pave it...

Oklahoma Prairie

cheers....

Doug does the TAT on a Harley... what could possibly go wrong?

All the Best,

You can't fool us - there's a KLR in that sidebox.

(Seriously, good luck)

Methinks that perhaps you will be needing a winch anchor that is somewhat more substantial.

Damn Doug, I can't wait to see how this trip goes! I've always been amazed at some of the places that people have taken an Electra Glide through.

Good luck and safe travels.
