and then it was back to Heath for the field events. I sat at the slow race finish line where I had a good view of the action.

of all people Mike Holmgren showed up on a nice Dakar but once a cheesehead always a cheesehead and he was flagged for 10 yards offsides.
of course as always he was totally cheated with the unjust penalty.

the Buell entry, who I camped next too, provided the highlight of the day when during the hot dog from the rope contest she was forced to leap off the bike after losing her balance. seeing her skilled barefoot pirouette through the air was worth the early reveille on this saturday in august. for me anyway. she rode that Buell, he had a K12 with a big camper trailer.

the arizona tire dude was there. he must have everyone outsmarted with his schedule. work to ride. ride to rallys. work at rallys. ride some more. get out of arizona in the summer. go back when it cools off. I'll bet he's got it good.

Wow...the Ossa museum pics are almost eerie...the curator undoubtedly has some issues. Did you see the Pioneers? That black and orange fiberglass bodywork was the coolest back then ('71-ish?).

I just didn't want to travel back on the same road we came down on is all. Besides, you're the one that just had to get pictures of bridge-rot.

While Flug was looking at bridges I was trying to get out of here.
It took two of us about twenty minutes to pull it out. What was going to be a short cut to get us back to Heath in Time for the field events ended up being a 50 minute 2 mile delay, but it sure was fun.
