Today is the day of departure. My g/f has been crying all morning () and BMW still has my bike. Otherwise I'm ready besides needing to do an oil change and load the bike up.

Day 1 but Ill call it warm up day. We only did about 250+- miles today. We didnt end up hitting the road until about 2000hrs(Im using military time for the stories and time lines). We just took i70 west so it was boring and uneventful. We stopped just east of missouri for the night. We didnt want to chance out luck of not finding a decent hotel in St louis. Nelly made a rap song about st louis so we better stay away. now for a few pictures. nothing to great yet. .... yet!

Sounds to be a neat ride. Will be one of the people following you also. I had started on a trip to San Diego and up the Coast but a deer encounter on a West Texas backroad in the Davis Mountains ended that trip till next year. Sigh!

Watching. I may be headed for Vegas from E'ville in a few weeks. Details of the plains transit would be worthwhile for me.

Were taking 36 to 383 to 83 into Colorado Springs area. 36 is a looooonnnngggg straight road.

We got hungry and saw a steakhouse in a little bitty town called Mankato in Kansas. Best impulsive stop ever. Awesome buffet of ribs turkey ham carrotts ect. They also have a menu you can order other items off of.

From here were pushing it into Colby, Ks for the night. Pushing all the way to Colorado Springs would be 5 hours. From colby we will wake up and only have 2 1/2 hrs to get to our first destination. I think were over 500 miles already today and in 95ish degrees. Were pretty beat. Ill give a day milage and total trip when we get into Colby.
