Triumph Tiger 800 xc Footpeg issue

I hear a lot about rear passenger foot pegs torquing the frame in a crash and causing the bike to be totaled.

I wanted to see how many people have had this problem. Has it been addressed by Triumph? Anyway to fix it?

No idea if it's an issue; I don't fall over.

That seems like an obvious way around the vulnerability... be interested to see what you come up with.

That's what full coverage is for...

In all honesty, it probably isn't a high percentage, the people you hear just talk REALLY LOUDLY, so you notice....

Still sucks though...

Just throw some luggage on there to soften the blow...

You think Triumph would get on it considering the ride apart guys are screaming it from the roof tops.

Where are they screaming it from the roof tops? It's mentioned in passing as a possibility in their review, but is based purely on conjecture as best I can tell. Have any examples of it actually happening?

Full coverage insurance is the correct answer here I'm guessing if the bike hits something hard enough for the passenger pegs to bend the subframe, it probably would have been totaled regardless due to other damage.

There are at least 3 people that have posted pics of the pass pegs ripped off. Anything can happen in a crash. I high-sided at 20 mph & the pass peg bracket is perfect. I did bend the right radiator bracket.
