On that note, my kids were surprised to find out I liked Billy Idol.

I don't know whether they have since similarly surprised their kids.

You asked, I have a little Billy Idol. Here with Stella Soleil. A couple of punks.

Someone posted a Mike Ness song. Another Punker. I have a better live version of that song. It focuses more on the voice. I prefer live stuff if I can find a good sounding one.
He has some new stuff out. Machine Gun Blues. Violent video. Bonnie and Clyde stuff. His name is Mike Ness.

Now see what you did, you got me Rockin'

Early Joan Jett. The Glam Days. She still can rock it.

Suzy Quatro. Still out there. Mostly in Eurp. Fell off a plane ramp and had to cancel some giggs last yr.
Still looks pretty good in leather.

TV is boring, so I'm back.
One more.
One of the great voices and songs of the 60's Written by Grace Slick about 65, before she joined Jefferson Airplane. I wonder what she was smoking. Grace is an artist, last I heard.
It's a boomer, watch your sound.

Those cage dancers are going to dislocate something.
Rick Derringer was the only one in the group that was a real musician, when they started. He taught the others enough to play the song.
Who remembers Leslie Uggams? Mitch Miller? Hullabaloo?

I just watched this all the way thru. 2:48 Could this be the first recorded "helicopter" hair flip?

Come on Peterman. Start Dancin'.
"Smells like cookies."

Trying something different

Rather than try to get everything done by going back and forth between YouTube and
The ADV posting box, I’m going to pre-write everything in Word… let’s see what happens.

Heres a little mix of old, older, and ancient R&R personalities. How many of them do you recognize? Looks like the ultimate backup band, doesn’t it?Season to taste
And enjoy.

That was a good ‘un. A little moar of dat stuff pleeez…

Since Mort and peterman still remember when recordings came on waxed toilet paper rolls, lets jog them a little to remember.this…

And remember back when nobody ever went to a dance, they went to a “hop”…

And when they turned down the lights and played ‘your’ song, it was time to pull the girl a little closer…

But if you got caught with your ‘steady’ a little too close you might get a lesson from The Book…

And if your “ex” was the one that caught you she could be a case of this…

Had enough yet? Geezer Rock will never die!

Whew! Thats enough. Was it good for you, too?

Afternoon Mr. Pickle!

Much like thetourist and old country-western stuff, this is the music I grew up with, even if I'm not quite as much a "seasoned citizen" as you and Peter.

Where I grew up, in the southern Oregon backwoods of Groovy Grove and Springtucky, it seemed that we were always about ten years behind the rest of the world, and this is the stuff I was listening to in 1965 thanks to a cute little japanese 6 transistor radio I bought with my strawberry picking money.

Doo-Wop, Boogie-Woogie, Rockabilly, R&B, Pop, up through select metal bands, and even a little (whisper it) Lady Gaga now and then.

It's all music and it's all, like, groovy, MAN...

Remember how we used to spin the music roll using the corn sheller because we couldn't afford a store bought playing machine? Sure wore out a lot of Momma's hat pins - got some of them sharpened down to less than an inch long if I recall.

Southern hillbillies got nothin' on the kids of a western Orygun gyppo logger family!

Maybe then you agree with my view that Country Music, Western Music, and Country & Western Music are three different kinds of music?

I do, indeed.
Any of the above stuff I posted could be considered western, as in "coming from the western hemisphere"

this is "country" music:

and so is this:

(Anyone who thinks Union Station is a "country and western" band needs their ears checked!)

"Country and Western" is something else entirely:

(I use this as an example cuz I love this song!)

"but I will remain,
And I'll be back again..."
Ride easy, John. We'll be waiting.

Easy to tell the difference, just by listening.

Izzat what you were thinking?

HEy PETERMAN!

I found it!

The title song to your thread. This had to be the one you were thinking of.
"Where were you in '62?"

Edit: Dangit! 205'd by the OP on the first page. Didn't see the linky. Oh well, better luck next time.
