Yuh!

You're right. My three brain cells didn't make the connection there.

That is western music, (though Dwight and Buck may be pushing the envelope of the genre a little.)

This, on the other hand is not :

Peterman mentioned the Ink Spots. I know the name a vaguely a tune or two, but they were in the 30's and 40's. I just aint that old.

Here is a musical pioneer. Sister Rosetta Tharp. A 30's and 40's gospel singer and helped make the guitar a lead instrument.

This must be early 60's by the look of the guitar. Sassy

My first memory of a song. I was about 5, walking to the PO on a wood walk in Lenore ID, and could hear this being played on a radio.

Fever is an often recorded standard. I have quite a few. Madonna did a surprisingly good version. A nice fresh version.
Bette Midler did a really nice album of Peggy Lee.

Here, as in most things, I'm willing to give some latitude.

Speaking of Latitudes, do we have any Parrotheads here?

Speaking of Willie, and speaking of Western...

And, to anyone who likes this, but has not heard the whole album, you owe it to your self to do so.

Jeez I feel like the younger brother that always gets picked on. I guess there's old (me), and then there's OLD...

shhh.... don't let them notice I'm slipping something modern into the Ensure down here.....

There's more to the girl than the eye candy.

Why does everyone think she's just an (non-BMW) airhead?

I was preparing this song for my TV debut on KLEW 3 in Lewiston. 1957 I was 9

I had an acoustic steel guitar, but my teacher had an electric flattop. How I loved that sound. I would hump clear across Lewiston to play it as often as possible.

My parents moved and it never happened.

I could'a been this guy. Gorgious Dobro steel. there is some great modern bluegrass out there these days.
Pink Floyd on Banjo. Clapton. Stone. Coldplay, etc on bluegrass instruments.

Or this guy...This is tuff. If you don't like wailing guitars don't open.

Robert Randolph and Joe Bonnamassa dueling.

Peterman mentioned Cab Calloway. No Calloway from me, but I have his clone.

Kid Creole was heavily influenced by Calloway
Who remember Kid Creole and the Coconuts? At least remembere the Coconuts.

Here are the Coconuts. They had their own little act going off to the side. The kissy blonde is his wife Adriana Kagi. Divorced, she does a solo act, now. Creole has new Coconuts, not near as spicy. One of the other ladies did solo songs in the act, also.

Man, this is like Milton Berle, Ed Sullivan, Andy Williams, Pat Boone and all those other variety shows mixed together. Excuse me, I need to fine tune the antenna again.
