Yamaha TX750/Windjammer Fairing Question

Can a Windjammer fairing be used using the standard mounting brackets if the US market optional oil cooler is installed? Inquiring minds would like to know.

I can't answer your question. But did you see this. He has 2 of them listed. Maybe you could ask him if the instruction's say anything about it.

Funny thing. When I was loading my bike up to take it home, I spotted a fairing in the corner. I sarcastically made a comment to the guy. "Nice fairing you got there". He said. "No. Nice fairing YOU got there. I came off this bike".

I ended up giving it to the guy that gave me my motor I have now.

Well, I got one, so we'll see how the fit goes. I like the thought of comfort in the saddle for longer distances, but cooled oil even more.

the oil cooler sits below the lower edge of the Windjammer, so it shouldn't be a problem. Having the fairing might improve airflow throught the oil cooler since the fairing will direct air off of its lower side onto the cooler. When Veter designd the Windjammer he took oil cooers into consideration as he wanted it to be a universal fit item.

Well, as feared the fairing bracket and the optional oil cooler are not compatible. The cooler mounting tabs interfere with the fairing bracket. However, if one were to change the mounting tabs on the cooler to be a top mount vs. side mount, the cooler could easily bolt to the fairing bracket cross member. Another option would be to use a different cooler entirely, with a top mount. The search begins…
