How Do I Do A "CLICK HERE" for a Link?

I can do it on some other websites but when I tried to edit my post and add a "CLICK HERE" the html syntax would not 'stick' in the edit.

Thanks,
John

If I am reading you right. The syntax is [url=www.xyzz.com]CLICK HERE[ /url] note: I left a space in the ending tag so it would show.

That's What I Entered

When I replied to a post and I decided I wanted to reference one of my previous posts since they both had to do with the Remus exhaust/header system. Since time did not run out I attempted to edit my post, putting in the 'pasted' post's URL. Every time I attempted to modify the HTML with what we both agree is proper HTML so that instead of long code there is an alias, the edit window would not accept my changes to the HTML but WOULD ACCEPT CHANGES TO THE POST. Will try again...I know how to do it so may have been pilot error!

Thanks

Hyperlink help

Mmmm, why can't this luddite make it work?! Yes, I have gone to edit options and yes, I have selected standard editor. But still only one box pops up...so all I get is the hilighted url link and not my choice of text.

Weird, 'cos it all worked OK before the site was revamped a couple of weeks ago. Yeah, here I am trying to blame it on that

Can anyone put me right? Much appreciated.

Yeah, me too. I got it to work though, by typing and highlighting the text part, and then clicking the hyperlink button. I liked the old way better.

The guys at vBulletin changed it for the version we upgraded to. Reason is now the behavior is consistent with the other buttons, like bolding stuff.

As I see it, and from what R-dubb said, type what you wish to appear as the hyperlink, highlight it and then click the hyperlink button. Enter the hyperlink address and click and the url bits will appear either side of the chosen text.

Make sense?

Look at the last screenshot. the 2nd URL is highlighted. Change this highlighted text to, say, "My smugmug".

Name your url

I know how to use tinyurl, but is there a way to actually have the link say whatever you want - so for example, take a long link and just have it display as "Timsride" in the post.

I think I've seen this done - but how?
