Hit my own damned toolbox...

Out riding with a friend yesterday, decided to let him try my GS in exchange for riding his WR250R (I have one in the US too). We were riding a very rough rice paddy road when my Pelican tool box came off of my own GS in front of me. I had no time to react and hit it at probably 35mph.

Wearing a Leatt brace and vest, Rockgardn suit, Asterisk knee braces and Sidi crossfires.

I broke my right clavicle, pretty sure I broke the smallest rib on the right, and pulled a tendon on my right knee something fierce. Gotta get him a new bar and right peg.

I think I'll take a day or two before going to work... ugh..

Wow! I would think it's pretty tough to break your clavicle wearing a Leatt Brace. Must have been quite a shot.

Heal fast. Be more faithful to your GS from now on.

BTW, two lessons learned:

1) If a part has shown in the past that it might not stay on in a hard bump (which it had once before) safety wire or zip tie it on for safety.

2) Following distance when offroad. For some reason I ride too close to the guy in front of me offroad. Lesson learned.

I have always hated to drop a browed bike and I have always had a tendency to fight it a little too hard when it goes
But keep in mind bike parts are cheep body parts are not

BTW, his bar is good! Just the peg is damaged.

Operating on a 1/4 dose of my allotted pain killers. I'm allowed two, I'm using just half of one. At night I double up and fly. Why not, at least I am still as a stone and it can get some good healing in. Overall I'd say I'm doing great. The achy pain has already mostly left and now it's all acute, especially when I move wrong. All normal stuff. Went to work all day today. Oh yeah, in a sling, lookin' like a doofus.

The sling has nothing to do with that.

Glad you're on a path to healing, bro.
