Good to hear! You certainly make no excuses re. this accident.
What are your thoughts on your protective equipment you were wearing?
To each their own regarding the Leatt Brace. I purchased one recently as well as their chest/back armour. I find it a high quality combo that doesn't bother my riding one bit.
Did you hit your helmet, or extend an arm in the get off? I hear it's pretty common to break a collar bone while wearing the brace as it transfers the energy to the weakest link (Collar bone)

Foot Dragger, as far as Leatt paying for their own testing and having no real world testing, they are CE certified, just like CE approved back or knee protecters.

Thanks man!

Woofer, I'm glad I had it on. It was such a freak accident...not due to riding "mistakes" at all, just "bam!" the the bike and I were tumbling.

What was I wearing, and my thoughts?

From the ground up:

Sidi Crossfire TA boots. No issues with lower legs/feet at all.

Asterisk knee braces. Just below the end of the fibula on my right knee the muscle/tendon there was super sore at first when I would walk. If you look where those knee braces contact your knee you'll see where I'm talking about. The doc was concerned that I'd broken the end of my fibula but the x-ray showed it was ok. I'm guessing that location took one hell of a hit though. I'm walking great now and just walked all over Tokyo and Kyoto on a family vacation without the knee brace I'd bought "just in case."

Rockgardn flak jacket (I think that's what it's called). Seemed to do great. Just like Atomic Moto says this thing is about as flimsy as they come but the armor's good. I think you have to buy a new one every year, the material's just weak as water. injuries where the armor was. I wish I'd had some rib protection, but my ribs haven't hurt all that much anyway...

Leatt Trail (or Adventure, I forgot) neck brace and Adventure Body Vest Lite. I wonder if I'd had the "non-lite" version if I'd have saved the ribs? Otherwise, this stuff worked great. I know I took a hard hit on the right side and my helmet whacked the ground hard (I remember that). I would not be surprised if the brace had broken my collarbone, but it's an acceptable loss in my mind...hell I know I was going nearly 40mph who knows what could have happened. I reckon the brace and the vest together kept just about everything in place and though I was sore as hell, I wasn't really broken up too badly. I think that's a good testament.

Arai XD Helmet. Well, she was pretty worn out by this point, I was going to get new padding but I reckon I don't need to do that anymore. I imagine that it's "probably" ok impact-wise, but with all the scratches and the ripped off vents, well, I'm alright having a new helmet. ;)

I had some of those shitty Klim Dakar or whatever gloves on. No tarmac so they are in ok condition, but they're still shitty gloves.
