The Gus bus

WooHoo , off to its new home shortly.

Side car body when it arrived. It'll never look this good again.

One of the things discussed during their test ride was ease of entry. Too easy , I added a door to the new body ... I shared this after the fact. It was met with approval ... luckily.

This required assistance from Luigi The Magnificent my able assistant to help judge where I should hack into it with the grinder.

Splash some paint around and add the odd shiny bit.

Last but not least , it helps if you only send pic's taken in the dark to the prospective new owners when you tell them its finished.

You wouldn't believe the trouble I had getting the chick at the transport department to issue those

I think it was the FYYFF sticker that I gave her that did the trick.

They are good people

They'll likely thank you for your kind wish of safe travels , as do I.

I'm a little disappointed that not even one Fuck Loaded vote was cast.

OK , seeing as no one stepped up to the plate I've had to go and make one of those pesky executive decisions.

After much thought ... who am I kidding ... I'm going with hot rod with a hint of mutt
Tank and side covers stay. Everything else , seat/tail , fairing , panniers and top box are history.

Mutt is definately the way to go. Just look at mine. Mine is a junkyard dog. Getting rid of the fairing and head light alone will shed nearly 15 kgs of weight and you won't have to keep repairing the fairing bracket that bolts to the headstem. If you don't do much night riding then an old single H4 headlight is perfect.

G'day Alex. Actually I quite like yours in all its incarnations.

Just went a had a brief chat with the bike.
For a german she took it well when I suggested to her that shedding some kilos may not be a bad idea if we're gonna get frisky in the dirt.

Settled on 14" rims with whitewalls ... need to make a new adapter for a 5 stud on the rear of the bike.

This rig is really coming together nicely and it is going to be beautiful. Thanks for sharing your build with us along the way as it is much appreciated.
Continued success in getting her ready for the road

Is that your Ute in the background of the picture of the Harley rig? Looks pretty nice, is it a 56? I didn't know how far back they went, I think the first El Camino here in the US was 59 or 60.
