Changing brake lines on a R850r with ABS

Hi folks!

I'm about to change my brake lines on a bike with ABS. Haynes more or less tells me to keep off. Hmf, why did I buy the manual?
Any good methods out there? Bleeding the ABS-centre?

Thanks!
Hal

850 is same as 1100 procedure....

Grats on your 850R.

changing the lines is easy, so is the bleed

you will want to hang on to the Haynes for bigger project referance

Thanks GS, but the first link doesn't work for me. What I'm worried about is trapping air in the ABS/central unit. But I guess with some vacuum like the Mityvac it should be pretty straight forward. I've changed lines on older bikes before, like the R90 and just used MC for bleeding without any problems.

Cheers!

Done!

This was easy! I just a vacuum sucker running on my compressor. Changed all the tubes with Steel-braided and sucked the air out of the system. Had to use the under-tank unit to bleed the front. Thanks for links and pat onthe back!

Cheers!
