I was already planning to go to the smoky mountains around the same time. Looks like this is right next door. Count me in!
It'll be my first trip to TN on the klr.

How much is registration?
Is there plenty of spots for tents?

I'll probably get there on a Wednesday. I can give a had with stuff if need be.

you will love the riding in TN!

not totally sure on the registration cost yet - the resort rental went up a bit, so I have to re-crunch the numbers. We got ample camp spots available - just not a lot of parking spots for trucks/cars/trailers.

I was up there earlier this year without my bike. It was definitely was a good vacation but with out the bike it seemed I was missing something vital to be a great vacation.

Sounds like I talked Bonebag into the trip. So I'll guess I'll call in. And yes, bringing both the DRZ and 300EXC.

Question to the trail folks, do the bikes need to be plated for the dirt runs?

by then there should be two areas you can ride non-plated bikes (but you gotta trailer/truck them there):

Doe Mountain (in progress)
and
Buffalo Mountain

You got the message that it's been moved to Louisiana, right?

Yes, you'll need a plated bike to ride on the dirt ride I'll lead. We'll be riding roads to & from the trails. Bring which ever bike is legal. We'll be on pavement for about 10-12 miles each way.

Y'all can follow us in your truck over to Buffalo Mt. Thursday. (See post #10)

Not a bad idea to have at least one truck there.

Doe Mt. is about 30 miles away, hopefully it will be open by then. If so I might take a group over there on Saturday.

That was a gentle hug too. I think only Roy and Hawk took the full on man hug.

TWISTED RIDES
Friday - Big Bikes, twisty pavement ride with a spirited pace! NO GRAVEL! (Wimpy bikes OK too. We'll wait for you to catch up at major turns.) 135 miles and about 4 hours. (Short day) I'm thinking it will be early enough to hit Ridgewood BBQ after the ride! Best in the area!

Saturday - Big Bikes trail ride. We'll try to make it challenging, but will help pick up bikes where needed. It's all about FUN! (May even stop for some prime photo ops.)

9AM departures both days! Meet in front of the tent camping area! Don't panic if breakfast runs late...We'll wait if that's the case.
I have followed you before..............please define 'challenging!!! LOL>......just kidding.. This might fall into place for me to make a run up there!!!

When you coming back south?
