I did not know they were going to publish the entire blog. Might have done a better job. Not too late. After our championship race I am heading home to Daytona. It's like a second chance.

Thanks for taking time to read my blog.

Glad it worked out that way. I was going to suggest that if you were going to take one of the others, to replace the belt and make sure the CVT was in tip top shape before you left. Nothing quite like that sinking feeling when your belt breaks in the middle of nowhere.

Great report! What a great job! It looked like the Kymco handled the duties fine. I'd love to get out and cover that route 66 trail path again. Did it once with my parents years ago.

Really appreciate your report, and I know Kymco must be pleased with the results as well.

If that doesn't work then try this:

Just search for kymco usa when on fb,

or go to http://kymcousa.com/, at the bottom of the page is a link to their "on road" fb page.

They look really good at about 3500 as of now. Might get a few more miles out of them if I didn't enjoy rhe excellent brakes so much.

Is the 2013 Xciting an updated model? It looks good.

How do you compare it to your BV500 tourer?

It has been upgraded. Fuel injection and several other improvements. The suspension is superior to the BV500 but the BV is not bad. I'm thinking the upgraded shocks on the Kymco I am riding are definitely helping the bike. The BV has a little better performance up top but the Kymco is amazingly smooth like a big electric motor. Zero vibration at any speed.

The seating position is completely different with the BV being the classic upright Italian (Vespa) and the Kymco being more like the BMW 750 or a Birgman. Both work well it's just a matter of your personal preference.

So, given your experience so far, would you have preferred your GT300i on this trip or would you choose the Xciting if you were to do it again?

Tough call. The GTi is a way cool bike. I'm thinking it is the one I prefer.
