But lowlands can also be nice

And old mills at every creek

And old buildings with many memories

Till next time

It is over 15 years since I toured the central Europe....... did a couple of trips on a CB250R from England, where I was working at the time. Unfortunately no convenient digital cameras to capture photos to share back then.... heck the internet had not even come into being when I did my first trip....... so it is good to see yours.

Thank you to everyone near and far neighbors for encouraging comments
I hope you enjoy the pictures, unfortunately, sometimes I realize how nice it was only when I got home and watch the pictures back. Enjoying the moment is probably something that we had to learn and its difficult with head full of unnecessary ballast. But important is to keep trying

My barn. Autumn is really kicking off. This years weather was a little disappointing. First we had very cold spring, then incredible hot summer and again wet, foggy and cold autumn. But ... when i read some threads from others I'm still reasonably happy to live in this climate.

Istria

This time I went to the karst (Kras) which gave its name to this type of limestone areas all over the world. More specifically, I went to Istria to the warmer Mediterranean climate. I drove the bike, so this shouldn't be published according to forum rules, but I have been already there with the motorized bike and that is why I do not think it a serious cheating. Main goal is to show you the secrets of the Istrian hinterland and to have something to watch during the long winter days

Like i said I drove a bike and according on the amount of kilometers traveled this year I was tired as hell - clearly shown on pic

It started like this

We are close to the sea, seen in the background

More to come

We climbed some time and then come to the rocky edge of the plateau, which so effectively prevent the warm Mediterranean air from penetrating deeper into the continent.

The rock wall is at least pretty if not useful.

Will continue

Then we come to the first villages at the foot of the cliff. Architecturally very interesting construction mainly of rocks and small overhangs to withstand strong winds.

The view from the cliff, and from where we came

Arches

Wooden balconies

And little ponds

The villages are compressed under the cliff to keep arable land

I'm not very religious man, but the churches are so photogenic

This picture brings me a kind of peace in my soul. As the man in these times can still live the peaceful village life.

Over the rooftops

The rail is also climbing with us.

It's completely different world at the top

Koper port at the distance

And another village

This is probably the most straight road far and wide, perfect for setting speed records. But it would be hard to explain to the cops why you're doing it.

Slowly we are coming to the end of the report. Across the karst field

Past beings with one horse power. So peaceful

Till next time

Istria had problems with hard enduro bikes invasion, have you noticed any signs that forbid riding off the pavment?

Great pictures again

I didn't notice any signs and we didn't met any other riders. We have very strict law about driving in the wilderness but we were riding on the road all the time.

Thanks for positive comment.
