I can't seem to get this to work, does anybody know if snapfish won't allow me to link the picture?

I do not know, but they probably do. You formatting looks correct. I would blame them.

Right click on picture>Properties>copy URL>selectIMG>paste URL>submit

Do not preview first. And yes, some sites won;t let you link.

Posting pics

I clicked on your file name and got the "Web Page Cannot be found" message. Maybe the site is down. Also, do you have spaces after the opening IMG and before the closing /IMG. Try removing the spaces.

Here's a Webshots test:

Helps to have it full sized:

That's exactly what I did with snapfish, then I tried adding the spaces and finally the jpg at the end of the link.

Right now I would say that snapfish won't let me link the pic, for whatever reason.

The photo that I got posted was with hp photo, now I just have to figure out the size issue.

Newbie questions

All:

I did look through most of the Q&A here so I'm sure my questions are already answered somewhere. But, what the hell:

Q1: If I get a smugmug account (for example), do I still have the 160K limit per pic if I use the IMG button instead of attaching the photos?

Q2: If I use smugmug, can I use the IMG button to link to short videos as well? My little Canon A80 make decent, low-res videos that often say a lot more in 5-30 seconds of video than a million pics.

Q3: If I get a smugmug acct, any recommendations on which one? I don't see how I could go beyond the capabilities of the Standard account for $29.95/Yr but am more worried about the possible number of hits, bandwidth, etc..

I've got lots of decent pics from my last trip to Copper Canyon and have another trip coming in March 04 where I hope to take my D100 and have even better pics.

Thanks,

Tom

No, you can upload up to 8mb per image I believe. It will give you small, medium, large and original image sizes to link back to. Most posts are done with small or medium as the larger files can burn bandwidth which if you go over can cost a little extra.

You have to be a poweruser(?) the $50.00 plan allows you to upload up to 8mb of video, but it has to be converted to mpeg 1.

Start with the basic plan, unless you are planning to convert the video and upload it, they you have to go up one notch. If you start to use a lot of bandwidth you can upgrade later. You should be ok for most ride reports.
