Ossa Vintage Trial bikes

Hey Guy's,

I'm pretty new when it comes to vintage bikes but I am in need of some info on 3 bikes I now own.

Where is a good place to see what the bikes are worth.
Good place for parts.
How rare they really are.

1972 Ossa Mar 250
1977 Ossa Super Pioneer
1978 Ossa Black Six Day

Thanks for helping out....

Keith Lynas is a good place to start.

Ossa World too.

Your MAR is not that rare in the vintage trials world, good bike though. By '77 and '78 not too many people were riding Ossa's in the US. Unless they are BLT (Bolger Long Travel) bikes I don't think they are highly valued.

Thanks for the info and links.

They all run except the 6 day but just need to clean carbs. I am looking to sell them but would I look to NADA guide for value?

NADA seems high to me. For bikes like these, the price is whatever someone is willing to pay. If they were mine, I'd use eBay and take what I got.

A nice MAR, maybe $1500, most go for $500-750 ish
Super Pioneer Maybe $500
The 6 day could be interesting, Maybe $2K if nice.

If you are trying to make stupid money, then you would have to send to the uk. But for three bikes it is not worth the trouble. There was a guy shipping a container at a time, who bought up all the nice rides around here a year or so ago.
Had an MAR with less than 100km with an autograph of mick himself. It was near showroom, were it not the 50km I put on it. I think it went near 1900.

Not trying to make stupid money but at least what I paid. I got 5 bikes in total for a pretty good deal I hope.

The others are in Excellent condition. 1975 Kawasaki KT250 with 1400 miles, and a Gas Gas Pampera with 394 miles.

When can I post images? or am I missing something?

Keep an eye on Ebay.... For some reason Ossa's are not quite as sought after as the other vintage bikes in either trials or enduros.

I think it depends on your area, but around here Ossa MAR go for under $1000.

The six day is an interesting one....

My suggestion is to be patient, if they are in nice shape and you post pictures around you will get a good feel of worth and you should find a buyer.

PM me and I can host your pictures on my photobucket if you want.....

OK, I am going to revise what I said a little.....
The MAR I will hold what I said, the early MAR's just don't seem to have a devout following.

The Super pioneer and the six days are both later models from what I have seen usually. You may bring in OK money for these. Let me dig around some more and see what I come up with.

Old Spanish stuff isnt making much money here now, there are no proper rules, which means anyone competing on a Spanish TS, would be up against Fantic's and highly modified Jap bikes, and that tends to make the Spanish stuff of more interest to collectors.

Thanks for being so helpful. I will get pics up to you or a photobucket site when I get back from a motorcycle race this weekend in Portland.

The Six Day has been sitting for a little bit so we are going to get it running this weekend (hopefully :).

I'm sure I will get my money back and maybe a little more but It was a package deal so I just got them all.

The Kawasaki KT250 is in really great shape, it's a hoot to ride. Only 1,4?? miles on it.

The Pioneer and Six Day are desirable to those who like Ossas because they are towards the end of the line and fewer were produced. The MAR is a good vintage trials bike but its too easy to spend too much money on a poor one. That's how I built mine. Im not sure how well they are in the serious "Twinshock" events. There is a man named Alex Snoop in N.Y. that is well respected in Ossa circles. Also Ron Boors (N.Y.) has parts available. The Mid Atlantic Vintage Trials site may be helpful too. Im not sure if the SMOG (Spanish Motorcycle Owners Group} is still active or not. Any Pics yet? Good Luck emti

S.M.O.G is still active. And Alex Snoop is THE MAN when it comes to Ossa's, whether rebuilding or racing them. He's top notch at both.
