We just rec'd this email from a Nitron convert....

Quote:
Hi Mike,
Out of the blue, temps here went into the 60's for two days, and although it was wet and the streets were filthy, I got a chance to take the BMW out and try the new Nitron shocks.

WOW - it's all I can say.
A Revelation - and I've owned Ohlins on other BMW's before. The Nitrons are at least as good, and the factory setup seems, at least so far, dead on..........

I won't be lusting after the latest model for at least another two or three years (which was the point of this upgrade) -- the bike is just killer...........fun.

Love the way they look and work........

All best,

Dan

Plenty of time left to get in on the Jan. Group Buy, and you don't need a tat to be a hard core Nitron fan!

So I will give an update after 2.5 months of ownership:

I won't say the Nitron shock will cure everything but it did end my back pain. I realize that sounds like a joke but it isn't. I commute every day and my worn out stock shock had zero dampening left. My back hurt quite often and was always popping and cracking. I never thought much of it but every since I got this shock I have noticed it is gone. I think the fact I actually have suspension has made that pain go away entirely.

Aside from that the shock is awesome, it provides a plush ride and keeps you planted. I also like that you can adjust the preload while riding. You cannot do that with the stock shock.

Honestly, I don't want another spring. Give the spring to someone else rather than waste the money and effort to ship it to me, please.

I don't want to wait any longer to install the shock, and have decided I am going to be covering it up with a neoprene or ballistic nylon cover/whatever bootie anyway, so having boogered powdercoat or fresh and minty powder coat, won't make any difference.

The spring compressor I bought to try and take the original spring off won't fit in between the coils, and I still don't have a pin tool to undo the preload collar anyway, so at this point I'm calling it done with my attention and money spent on the matter.

The Adventure Series range of shocks are now available with low friction sealed needle roller bearing end eyes for the fantastic Triumph Explorer 1200.
