Many years ago in Colorado, someone was late for a gathering. When he finally showed up, there was a fresh hindquarter strapped to the back of his KLR.

But he was on his way when he saw a rider ahead hit a deer, so he stopped, called 911, waited for assistance, etc. Before riding off, he heard the deer bleating in the bushes and got one of the attending cops to put it out of it's misery. Then he asked if he might be rewarded for his good citizenship by harvesting a bit of it...

The cop told him that was explicitly illegal, he'd better not see anyone trying to take a piece of that animal, and he'd be over ---------> there for the next 45 minutes, is that clear?
