I'll split it into several parts as I'm now charging the navigator and updating the map.

Really great so far!

I am curious about one thing. In a similar thread in Gspot, one fo the other inmates said there IS an audio out jack on the V somewhere. Your review says no. Are you certain?

No audio output, only bluetooth I'm afraid... maybe you could get audio out from the mount if you "hack" into it.

konfucius, thanks for your work! As far as I can see, the new GPS is not serviceable, just like the 660.

I'm sure the device is serviceable if you send it into Garmin technical support. Or are you advocating that devices be serviceable by the average consumer?

Well there are screws on the back, so I would think you can take it apart.

Konfusious, thanks for doing this.

According to the video walk-though, the V does indeed display tracks, unless I misunderstand what I see.

Yes it does, like the z660 (Nav IV), you can send tracks from BaseCamp, then set your track to be visible on the screen and you can select the color, you can have several tracks visible with different color at the same time.

Or you can convert your track to a route (on the navigator) and navigate it, you can not directly navigate a track, like you do on Montana.
