Sept 2012 Linzm and I tried to get up Granite Ck. This involved crossing the Taseko R. On that trip we truned back as the water was too deep fast and slitty. [I wimped out]
This time after regretting that decision for a year we bumped our way back in to get the hell across it. There was an air strip there years ago but its overgrown now.
As shown on this section of the BC backroad maps page. [the book of lies]

We had camp set up at the Davidson bridge camp site where the Chilco Lk. road crosses Taseko river. This is a good place to park the trucks.
The track/road in from here was as great this time as last, about 45 kilometres from camp to The crossing with 3 or 4 minor crossings before there.

The Lodge owner would like to block this road. I got the feeling that he has had to rescue a few peeps over the years.
The boots needed draining a few times. Beece[beckee] ck. was deeper than expected.
On the way back we planned to eddy out behind the two mid-steam rocks.

This cabin is owned by the Lodge owner. Unable to describe the beauty of this location. This is at the S. end of Taseko lk. There is a big sandy beach down the road a bit.
I do a noobish thing and fall into the lake head first and get free bath. So we blast further S. 15 K. or so to The crossing to set up camp. I need to warm up and start on the rum.

The Taseko R. was lower this time and we had no problems getting across to the mine camp. It felt fantastic to be in here after studying the area with G.EARTH all this time.
Beer wagon

They had no beer for us though. These guys had jumped over the hill from Pemberton to look at some core racks. I think we scared the heck out of them when we blew out of the bush.
Took this on the way back out.
Camped on the way out on Chita beach.
The road down to here is not marked but it's S. of the Chita ck. crossing a k or so and a good road down to the lake. If anyone camps there stay back in the trees a bit as the wind can blow off the lake a bit.
Linz was using a hammock and was finding it a bit cold so he dropped it to tent mode for more warmth.
The kitchen as made by semi drunkin well fed fingfs.

The nest morning took us back out to the trucks and a good lunch and some rest.
The weather had been great so far and my headplant into the lake a few days ago had worn off I deeked over to the river for a bath. I was then as I lay unclothed that I saw 3 dualsporty type bikes putt over the bridge stop and look around. I thought about standing up and waving but fear and common sense stopped me. The salute would again be a bit awkward so i did nothing and preserved my perceived dignity.
I'm thinking that was Mr. dcparks and Co.

Fueled up and headed over to Chilco today around 40k each way from camp.
Stopped at Konnie lk. for a few shots [brandy now i think]

On through the Nemaiah valley

Here be the Crazy Eyed dog of Chilco lk.

Hey dcparks you must have been here within an hour of us. The smoke in our pictures is the same!

We backtracked 26K towards the camp and turned up the West Taseko rd. to see if we could get up this.

There is a road up there. 15k or so S. on the West side of Tesako will get you to the start of a road to..
Good place to stop.
The Tesako lk. lodge is down there, look for the green roofs.
Camp is back beyond the sunlight.
This is Fish lake. This is where Prosperity mines had planned to put their tailings pond.
I understand there is a good campsite up there.
On the way down I boiled my rear brake I think. It worked ok after it cooled.

My riding partner Linz, master of the Super Sherpa and operator of the mobile living room.

That was it we headed back to camp and wooped it up at bit then headed home in the morning.

Beautiful country and photos. I have been on the tourist routes south of there, but the scenery in your trip is astonishing.

Good lawnchair cuisine, too.

What is your primary navigation method, paper maps or gps?

Paper maps mostly. We started to take good pictures of the related B.C. back road map pages[book of lies] and used the camera screen to view it. It worked well.
Only used the GPS now and then to check things. We have been up there a few times.
Linz sent me a few pics I'll add this eve.
