I had a Honda gas mower in VA that was awesome for small lawns. Smooth, quite, dead reliable, etc.
Now I pay a guy to cut the grass b/c it's way too hot in FL and labor here in FL is dirt cheap.

Here's one for $5 on Craigslist in your neighborhood.
May need some work -- may just need a quick clean and some gas.
My Craftsman ran for years, sat for years and then started back up on the third pull. Sold it for $50 on Clist.
Here's a push mower for $60, also in your area
I'd go gas. Don't worry about catching it, water and fertilize when the neighbors do.
Or -- pay a neighborhood kid to cut it with his dad's mower.
