Fly & Ride...1500 Miles 4 days on the new bike!

*** -POST EDITED, ADDED PICS- ***

I am starting this thread now and will have to add to it later. I havent been here long but I knew right away I would be hooked.

I Live in Oklahoma and will be flying out tomorrow morning at 8AM to Salt Lake City to pick up my (basically new) 2012 Tiger 800 XC. I have owned several bikes but not an adventure bike, nor have I ridden 1500 miles in a weekend. Im pretty stoked.

I plan to leave there, run down through Flagstaff AZ, down to Roswell NM, back up to Amarillo, and over to Tulsa. I will try and update this but I will only have my phone on me so pictures might be difficult. If anybody is along that path and wants to ride a bit or maybe eat hit me up!

I will check back in tomorrow. In the mean time, if you have any pointers. Feel free to chime in.

I flew out and got there about 1:30, The guy I was buying it from was nice enough to pick me up from the airport. We got to his shop
and there it was, sitting out front waiting on its ride home. We looked it over, talked about a few things then I changed cloths and was off! I didnt know the interstate speed limit there was 80, but the Tiger had no problem with that. As soon as I got out of SLC I had to get it off the highways for a picture (not much but I just wanted to stop and admire it).

PICTURES!!!
Leaving Tulsa friday morning.

Here is the first picture I took of it, just went off on some little road right outside of SLC.

Turns out, when the sun goes down in Utah. It gets COLD fast! I stopped in this little town called Panguitch, Utah. There
was a few other bikes here so I decided to stop for the night

COLD!

Went up some jeep/ATV trails.... It needs different tires for this haha

Middle of nowhere Utah, That rock had names carved all over in it...

Arizona

Lake Powell/Colorado River

This girl was a 1st grade teacher, said her classroom was boring and decided to make this her office for the day to grade papers...
I was a bit envious of her office.

Navajo dirt road heading to nowhere really....

Nowhere haha

Back on paved roads and found me a riding buddy.... more of an acquaintance really.

and another one. (I like wildlife haha)

halfway!

Stayed the night in a small town near Albuquerque. Healthy breakfast and back on the road!

This picture is the definition of "nowhere". 150 miles of absolutely nothing... between I-40 and Roswell

They were out of gas....

Found the Aliens!!

In to Texas and beginning the bad weather...

MMMMM, 72oz's of wonderful beef. (I didnt challenge, I dont think 3 of me could do it.)

Amarillo by morning, up from.....oh uhhh... Stayed there and had me a Texas style waffle. Off to Oklahoma!

Great weather there... No

About 2.5 hours of riding in the rain... it was wonderful, but finally home!

There it is, 1600+ miles summed up in just a few pictures. (there are more in my photobucket hehe)

If your thinking about getting this bike, Don't think anymore. BUY IT! It is awesome! It did anything and everything I wanted
to do and will do much more! Its comfortable and has plenty of power for Interstate cruising. Anyways now that I have it, its
time to start planning another!

Sorry for so many pictures, I get camera happy sometimes.

Have a good trip, Chris.

I only had to over to the neighbor's house twice to fix his Yahoo mail issues after you left.

Should be a great ride, maybe punching through a few squalls. You'll definitely want good rain gear. Then maybe you won't need it.

Start the day early, hit the scenic routes, stop every so often to stretch (will you from binding up later in your trip). Enjoy the trip and the new bike.

I was driving from Pryor back to Tulsa in the rain and saw a guy on a 1st gen SV650 going down 412 in the rain. I hoped that you missed the worst of it on your last day of the trip.

Looks like you had a great initiation to adventure riding. The bike looks great, can't wait to see it in person.

I've been wanting to get out to UT on the bike for a while. Your trip just added some more fuel to the fire. I'll probably go a bit earlier in the year.

Thumb

I40 sucked eh? Ive taken back roads to NM and CO just to avoid 44 and 40. The fact that you could stand it speaks strong for the Triumph though...
