Russell Day Long - Sunbrella fabric (vs. velour vs. leather)

I'm going to get an RDL for my GSA and am thinking about the Sunbrella fabric (vs. velour vs. leather).

What say the cognoscenti here?

Thanks!

(Link provided for the less cognoscent. )

When did he start using Sunbrella? I wouldn't think it would hold up to day to day use as a motorcycle seat.

FWIW: I make seat covers for riders. #1 customer is Russell owner with leather, #2 is Corbin owner.
These owners tell me leather is best.

I also cover plenty of velour seats for a bunch of SoCal off-road riders. They say that's best for off-road. They state grip and breathability as benefit. They also tell me they take days to dry out hence the seat covers we make.

I just got mine

I just got back from a ride in appointment and a 1700 mile ride after. I was going to go with leather but decided to try the sunbrella at the last minute. My main concern is long term durability. The thing i like best is that it doesnt get as hot when sitting in the sun as leather. If it doesnt last i will get it recovered but i liked it enough to give it a try and so far i like it A LOT!

Not a great pic sorry

I like that! Looks like just the covering I need on my RDL for the AZ summers.

Thanks a ton for lobbing in. Might have to give it a go.
