At my advanced age I try and keep everything straight as possible......

Even though I got a ride in today I managed some mock up time in the palatial vgracing garage tonight.

I tacked together the rear mount,

Got the top mount connection point tacked to the frame, yes the welds suck but I will weld everything up solid after I take the motor out.

Now I just have to figure out the lower rear mounts then I can move on to exhaust and intake.

To add insult to injury Alex Martin rode his rock river 2014 yz250f this weekend at we inserts round two of the Waffle House cup in North Carolina and says it's the shizzle.

Scott I have heard nothing but great reviews on the 14 YZ250F, will be interesting to see the shootouts in the mags.

Drtyrrel, The XR 200 is not street legal.

I tell my self no matter what to go to the garage after dinner to do something, even if it is to just stare at the bike(s) otherwise I end up on ADV or watching tv all night which is not productive....so headed down with no desire to do anything and ended up making the two lower mounts, will weld tomorrow.

"A man has to have a passion in life and it can't be Whiskey, Woman or Work"

I wanted to weld these mounts to the frame to stiffen up the whole thing.

Progress Report

Thanks for the updates and pictures.
It is fun to watch how others do things.
Helps me to see what is possible and that it isn't rocket surgery.
(I read that yesterday on a Tee shirt)

Keep it up!

Thanks Jag!

I have been trying to figure out how to do the exhaust with out a mandrel bender in the shop but think this might be the ticket, then I can cut sections out of the radius to get the bends I want. Might have to order a section to see.....

go here, poke around...... they have mandrel bends in a lot of sizes, and offer it in stainless as well for that "works" appearance.

WOW! Very cool, made the mistake of clicking on it at work and lost 1/2 hr but that seems like the place to go for what I need, fairly inexpensive as well.

Thanks!!!

You're too fast for me!
I was going to give the same linky.
I ordered my bends and pipes from Cone Engineering and I found him to be very helpful and friendly too.
He has many, many years of experience with exhaust design and has excellent recommendations.
He also may have bends not listed online so give him a call and see what he can set you up with.
