I see a lot of complaints about the USB connection to the computer locking up. Is there a reason people aren't just taking the SD card out and using a card reader? I assume most people have a card reader on their laptop now, since both of mine do, and it's a lot faster that USB isi. I don't think I've ever connected my GoPro to my computer to transfer files...

Plugging in charges the battery as well, so most plug in for both reasons.

Sent using strings and tin cans and Tapatalk.

This may be a silly question but, how different is the VIRB battery to the Zumo 590 battery????

Salty.

For Canadians, used to paying roughly $100 more than US inmates, this is good news:

The Elite is the same price as the basic Virb at GPSCity.ca until June 18. What a deal at $329. And they have the Elite in White or Dark models for the same price.

Does this mean if I forget to tell the camera 'this side up' that I can rotate the video?

and yes the update corrects the sync issues on previously recorded video and the overlays work as well.

I updated the camera about a week ago and found the track/video sync issue resolved on new footage.
Just updated Virb Edit and checked some older footage shot at 48fr/sec which was out of sync and it still is messed up.

For me the fix was the camera firmware update, not the editing software update.

hmmmm. I was looking at some video a couple days and the sync was totally off. The exact same clip today was dead on.

Strange - the VE for Mac download page has 2.4.0 though it describes the later version.

The right file can be downloaded here.

What does this ? mean (lower left, red arrow). All 14 of these videos show the ? I'm sure I haven't exported all of them. There are many more in the VE Clip Library with the ?

I'm still not up to speed on a lot of this. For instance: when I import from the camera to the laptop, the videos obviously go to the VE Clip Library, but I think they also go to two other locations: Pictures Libraries-->Videos AND Pictures Libraries-->Videos-->Virb. I've deleted several vids only to find them later somewhere else. Ah yes, the learning curve.

TIA

fwiw: it takes a lot more time to edit, export, and send to a coherent Folder location than it does to do the same with pics.

I think the question mark is VE telling you it can't find the video file, though it does see the thumbnail.
