Removed Virb Edit--uninstall.
Went into windows registry and cleared out all entries associated to Virb Edit.

Installed Virb Edit 2.2.2.0

Started a new video edit after some time and two Virb Edit crashes here is the end results.
Still very buggy on my machine but it did work.

So far I made two videos
I'm sure something will break.

Now I need to go figure out how to mount this thing to my Vstrom.

I assume that the camera was mounted on the handlebar?

No speedometer and no track showing. The way it should be.

If helmet mounted no distractions from head movements.

Good work.

George

Yes Virb mounted to handle bar.
And I am having trouble with Virb Edit been using PS CS6.
Today I got Virb Edit to work but still buggy ---Windows 7.
Last video was Virb Edit.

I am always looking for different mounting to the bike.

Working on the Vstrom mount now.
That's going to be difficult ...trying to keep windshield from being seen.

Here's a photo of my setup on the bike.

Thanks
Fred

If it makes you feel any better, I installed the latest VIRB Edit for Windows on a Win 7 Home Premium system this morning. Had to also download MS Dot Net. Installed it all, opened the program, imported a freshly recorded video, and the video display as nothing but black. I know it's playing because I can hear birds chirping in the video, but no deal.

I reported it to a Garmin employee and he said it was a known issue in previous versions, but they thought it had been fixed in the latest.

Apparently not.

It wasn't.

I used Google Earth to create the track because I wanted to know more about what I saw in the video.

I was wondering that too.

I figured out the location by using Google Maps to look up the towns listed on the signs at the intersection of 547 & 10 and backtracked from those towns to the intersection. Then in satellite view I was able to confirm the location by the color/shape of the buildings/landmarks.

Don't worry Fred I don't work for the NSA, I was just curious and it was a fun challenge to see if I could actually find the location.

It's been to cold here to ride so I've been enjoying your videos and the sound tracks have got me to looking up some old songs I have not listened to for awhile.

And now for something completely different...

No, not a man behind a desk out in the waves...

A bird video.

I noticed this little guy going after the suet balls in the back yard so I just propped the VIRB on one of the arms of the stand and went for a walk around the yard while he ate.

That's a hungry bird.

Looks like the snow will be there for awhile.

Your little backyard friend would be a Female Downy Woodpecker. Almost forgot that little Black Capped Chickadee at the end.

Question

I'm here 'cause of the possible infinity focus issues with the 3+ Black. I noticed that the arm (bird feeder) the camera was on was in focus, close to the camera. So, did you change focus for the closer subject? Is that a function of the 1020, 720 etc options? Is the focus fixed?

I was just a little too close to the bird. That wasn't really a planned setup. I used a monopod later in the day so I might have better footage later on.

Jon: the temperature was 10C today. Snow was disappearing quickly.

Almost forgot: yes, focus is fixed. Unlike GP3+ where it's broken. ;)

That's funny I guess I'm not the only one who does that kinda of stuff.
I thought it was imbedded or something.

You ought to see how much work I put into stealing interesting tracks from photos small maps on the net.
Some of the guys around here guard cool routes with their life.

EmmBeeDee cool bird video we have the same bird here in Ky.

We have a lot of those here, both the Downy Woodpeckers and the Chickadees. And Blue Jays and Cardinals at this time of year.

That's funny. I set up the camera on a better mount and left it there for 47 minutes, and just now I brought that into VIRB Edit and there was NOT ONE bird in that shot!

Fortunately I didn't have to watch all 47 minutes in real time to find that out - I played the video in VE at 800% faster speed which still let me see the picture well, but not one bird did I find.

That bird must be tired from flying back and forth between the two of you each day! No wonder she eats the way she eats!!!!
