Been looking around and maybe I missed it.
Is there a way to get the any overlays to display temp readings seems that would be kind of a nice bit of info.

Fred
No, there's no way to display the temperature in VE gauges. I think the info isn't saved in the track at this point. But Garmin will fix that eventually.

ROTFL! Very funny.

We should have a contest: Who's going to post the weirdest VIRB video? Must be done on your own camera - no good Googling it.

That might be a good idea.....but I can get weirder than that .....maybe ride my bike and play the guitar...

It's a funny video but I think it also shows that the built in mic is not the greatest.
It's not too bad but it seems to have a damping/ noise cancellation on it.

It you want to narrate your video like Mark (BigDog) and others I think an external mic would be best.

No one out there has one yet?
I would love to hear one.

Looks like you need the $15 adapter
And then add your own mic.

On my device I cant control the zoom settings on other than video.
Still, I see a clear difference between wide and ultrazoom for still photos.

Lens correction seems to only work at ultra zoom, where I cant see that its needed or make any difference at all for still photos. It have made much more sense to have lens correction for wide.

When selecting Lens correction it autoshifts to ultrazoom from wide.
In your example pictures i would say the difference is pictures taken with wide or ultra zoom, not the inflence of lens correction.
Or have i missed something? It seems you are taking pictures at 4:3.

You're right - Lens Correction does force the lens into "Ultra Zoom". I don't find that's much of a problem. I like that view - it's much less distorted. I plan to experiment with the other settings when I find the time.

For photos, I have been trying out the different settings but not scientifically. Just playing around up to now.

I'm going to get this cable instead:

It's $30 at GPSCity, but I think it allows more flexibility.

"This 4-to-1 converter provides 3.5 mm stereo input for an external mic, RCA composite video output, 3.5 mm stereo audio out and mini-USB port."

The good thing about the cable I plan to get is that you can still power the camera through the usb connector even if a microphone is connected.

Mounting the Virb to my Husqvarna TR 650 Terra

Man the good tips just keep coming and coming.

Mounting the Virb Elite camera to my Husqvarna TR Terra

The Windshield on my 2013 Husqvarna TR Terra is too tall to shoot video with a helmet camera. The windshield is in the way big time probabley due
somewhat to it's wild field of vision of both my new video cameras. I've shot plenty of video on this bike, but that was with the stock windshield
which was very short.
When it gets warm out----the windshield will come off probably----or may use a shorter one.

So------to shoot video from this bike I had to get the camera in front of the Windshield.
And this is what I ended up with----and this is where the Virb steps in.

Yeh----I used to ride a Harley---bet you didn't know that !!! Way back---way way way back.

I drilled some holes in the Madstat windshield bracket and found some ram mounts laying around from my old BMW days
when I a bunch of stuff on my big GS farkle bar. So with that stuff using a 4" ram extension and the 1/4" camera mount that came with the
virb I got it mounted----and can have this whole thing off in 2 seconds if I want.

At this very moment I haven't tested this-------those ram extension have some flexiblility in them so I'm hoping the camera doesn't shake
too much----but I'm hoping this works---I will like it there if it does I'm sure.
I have been using the wifi from my android "Comando" smart phone to control it--and it works----but when the remote button comes---that's what I'll use.
You can see the remote button for my POV1.5 camera just to the right of my left mirror----------it's velcroe'd on and wire tied also.

If your bike weighs more than 400lbs. You might not make it.

Tri-pod video

I stuck the Virb on a tri pod and took this video.

The sound has some noise that I don't know where it came from.
Maybe my shitty guitar playing
I also wished I'd shut off the furnace---I can hear the blower

Anyway here it is as pathetic as it is.

By the way this is "ME"---and about me--unlike the viagra vid --that was hilarious

I enjoyed that. Thanks for sharing.

Beautiful Strat. I have an Ernie Ball Musicman Silhouette Special I need more time to practice on...

Chris Isaak also does that song.

Yes your right----Chris Isaak----my buddy came over here to just jam---he heard that song and in an hour we recorded it----he's the singer-------I can't sing a lick. But I played 3 guitars on there (2 electric and 1 acoustic) and the bass---the drums were a machine---------that drummer always shows up-----and never gets drunk.

You're good. I like that style.

I have Chris Isaak's Baja Sessions cd right in front of me, and I think it's been too long since I heard it so onto the iPhone it goes.

Mark I like the way you mounted the Virb on the husqvarna I may use this on my Wee.
I have the same problem the big windshield is too big.
I may even try mounting on the fender.

Santa brought me Jesse Odyssey II boxes for Strom so will be mounting those up first.
Then concentrate on the Virb mount on that bike.

And the video was great..great sound...you are way beyond my musical abilities
Never owned electric guitar have several acoustic guitars.

The one in the viagra video is all graphite no wood called Rainsong.
The thing hardly goes out of tune weather never effects it.
My other wood guitars move all over the place with the weather.

Thanks
Fred
