So does this mean; that for Stage 4 (which only seven riders completed) those 7 riders each awarded a time (result) for stage 4 of 52 minutes and 20 seconds.

While the remainder of the field recieve also a time of 52 minutes and 20 seconds + a penalty of 26 minutes and 10 seconds = effectively a Stage 4 result of 1 hour 18 minutes and 30 seconds...?

If so, it seems a reasoanbly equitable solution for an inequitable situation.

The other options were to; A) award the seven who completed the course their actual times, and effectively DNF the rest of the field.

OR

Wipe the stage 4 completely, which is unfair to those seven who DID complete the stage... effectively putting them at a DISADVANTAGE to the rest of the field.

Good compromise for a tough situation... Now the remainder of the rally is a battle between these "magnificent seven" ... all else being equal.

That is unlclear, yet I think that this is correct, No overall results are published yet for the rally

It's a good compromise, better decision than what some people took on January with the mountain gate

"The jury's decision is that results for stage 4 will be determined in the following manner...
by throwing darts at a roulette wheel."

I think they made a right decisions to reward those how found the right track. It is though to make a decisions under these conditions which is right for everybody, they did what looked the best at that moment.

Congrats to all the riders, it has been an amazing race,

Glad that the 250cc KTM made it till the end without spreading the engine parts all over the place a 6th overall and a 4th in M1 class, the Serres Rally organiser was glad to finish the race and participate with the many friends that he has made throughout the years. Next year this is on my list , with the 640 of course

Me, from my end, this has been another test for navi equipment, and I am glad that everything worked as it supposed to .

Obviously something wetn wrong this time with roadbooks and time keeping, one for all: my friend Giampietro DalBen, during the second stage assisted for about three hours his mate Giovanni Stigliano (luckily nothing serious)

and was rewarded with 23 hours penalty

That's not fair, sorry!
