(insert snarky comments here)

If you case the triple up here, you ain't waiting for Asterisk to pick your ass up.

You're running like hell from the polar bear they have chained there.

We like to play a little game called Survival in these parts.

This doesn't list Glen Helen. Is anyone broadcasting it?

Not exactly rocket science.
Flug,

For once, I wasn't arguing with you. My comment about you being gone was based on what you have posted in the past but maybe that was only a vacation from live races and I assumed the rest. I thank you for serving in the U.S. armed forces. Well done.

O.k. then, so now I am going to argue with you. You have made these statements in the past;
Reed is on steroids an suffers from roid-rage.
RC is not the GOAT, and is undeserving of this praise.
Aldon Baker is also overrated and does nothing of significance for his riders.
Asterisk is actually a danger, and not a service, to the riders.
And these are just the gems I can think of off the top of my head...

Do you actually believe in these things you say, or do you just like to get a rise out of people?

My current thoughts on roids are this. I think it's reasonable to assume that in any sport where there is a lot of money at stake and that money is tied directly to performance, and spectacular results are produced in a sport that requires large amounts of physical exertion from the participant, that it is safe to assume that the possibility exists that PED/roids may have played a role. Particularly when you see behavior that could be construed as roid rage. After Chad Reeds crash at Millville in 2011 I am officially a fan of his. Prior to that I was not, to the point where I "didn't like him".

Yes I made accusations that him, and RC, were highly suspect to have been involved with roids/PED's.

I regret those.

Going forward I'll say that I hope they didn't, we'll probably never know, and if it turns out there is some truth to it I'm sure the list of guilty riders (from all forms of racing) (which we'll also never know) would be more than a handful, (DeCosters name has been mentioned on this board as being very involved with bicycle racers and their "trainers" in the 70's) and given everything that has transpired in baseball, football, etc etc, I can live with the record books if they did.

To me the sport is to sacred to have a GOAT. I grew up on World Championships being the ultimate dream, which for my generation of US fans was first made true by Lackey.

His being way more epic than Laporte's as he'd been at it a long time and he was on a 500, no disrespect to Laporte, who I believe won his first, by a week, on the 250.

I look at RC's resume from time to time and it's staggering. He's a likeable guy. Rick Johnson recently said in an interview this year in MXA that he didn't think RC was the GOAT, he thought Stewart was. I tend to agree. Assuming RV wins the SX title next year for 5 in a row, and walks away, taking into account some of the Europeans and their records, Stefan Everts, Jobe, Eric Geboers, DeCoster, etc. and considering RC rode in an era where the bikes were a lot less likely to spit you off, I'd say RC, along with a select few others, is one of the GOAT, but nobody is worthy of that title by themselves.

you seem to have selective memory powers of recall when you paint my ramblings with your brush.

My point has been that Asterisk has a lot of room for improvement. They have exhibited very questionable behavior when treating potentially severely injured riders, (also pointed out by others not just me - Will Hahn 2014) and seem to believe in their own well meaning minds that they are part of the race. They aren't. There is helping and there is getting more involved then they sometimes should. Couple that with questionable treatment with regards to head, neck, spinal, internal injuries, and I think you've got a lot of room for improvement.

It is people such as yourself who continue to ignore these points and chose to instead rant against me that I find quite hard to figure.

Nachtflug "hey they should have at least put a neck collar on that guy he lawn darted head first into the face of that triple from 40 feet in the air"

Brents347 "Nachtflug is such an asshole for criticizing Asterisk"

make of it what you will. there is no bigger fan of todays riders than me. My hero's like Lackey, Weinert, Tony D, etc. aren't even in the same league as Andrew Short and the rest of the 5-15 place riders. Forgetabout the top guys. I'll be 57 in July. I'm just glad to be able to see as much as I do at this point, and everyone else is free to put me on ignore.
