Went riding today again... I know, lucky me. This time to the best kept secret in Spartanburg. Here's some of the action as the place was happening:

There were ATVs, side by sides, frankentrucks, etc. Even Mercedes Benz sent a All-Terrain minivan over:

Although the side of it revealed its southern customization

As for the bikes, there were a couple of no-gear adventurers around:

Our corner with geared riders:

GI_JO_NATHAN on the XT225:

Lethal Dose on the DR350:

Localmoto on his KLX300

Yours truly skipping the harder stuff in order to document the skills of these riders. I like that take on the story better.

My Mefo explorers were definitely no match for these conditions:

Though sometimes all you need is a little willingness:

This mud pit pretty much swallowed Localmoto's Kawi

I couldn't take a picture but GI_JO_NATHAN took me on my largest water-crossing ever. Going upstream on a creek passing ATVs...that was nuts.

We were not the only ones having fun though

Minivans not recommended for this terrain. Not even Mercedes Benz

Trying to follow these guys with motocross and racing backgrounds was hard given my skills (or lack thereof). Once again, the shortcomings to be attributed to the rider, not Sue.

Here's some more random pics:

Nice riding with you guys. Thanks for you patience as well. Can't wait to do it again.

Yeah, Cutle's thread is pretty cool, I follow it. Same as knybanjo's. I'm not sure if they just carry a camera on a jacket pocket or what. I take pics with my phone so i can upload them as soon as I get home... don't want to drop an expensive smartphone while riding.

I'm not a brand advocate. Actually I can hardly bring myself to spend the kind of money most people spend on gear, but these boots are well worth it, especially since I got them half off. And we were actually inside the water for a bit going upstream on that creek.

No doubt about the mud hole crossing. As far as I'm concerned I might as well call you LOCOmoto... you just go for it!

That place is cool to ride on, but like I said, I do enjoy dualsport rides with a healthy mix of twisties and WNC is the place to go for that.

My only complaint about that place is the garbage that people leave behind. We should volunteer and have a clean-up. Need some KLRs to put a garbage can as top box

Let's try to get a ride to Worryhut before it closes this year. Nice riding with you again

Went for a ride today to Carver Mill. I was supossed to meet there fellow inmates Albie and LethalDose.

My day started as an adventure alright. I discovered another dead battery and finally realized my phone charger was pushed in. I called Albie to tell him I may be late and he told me to jump start it and it got going right away.

I took out my top box and put some of the contents in my backpack. Unfortunately I didn't do a thorough check. I headed out and when I was going through Lyman something felt wrong. I pulled over to an empty parking lot only to find this:

No problem, I come prepared, I thought. Went through my backpack and I didn't find a tube, Dang it, I instantly remembered where I put them when I took them out of my top box.

I talked to Albie and Kyle to let them know and started to take down the wheel. I used the "enduro stand" Stretch showed me once

Again? This seems all too familiar

A friend was going to get me a tube and run it to me but he was on the other side of town. Then Albie, who was at Carver Mill already called me and headed my way. He stopped by his house and came in his truck with top of the line tools that I didn't even know how to use

By the time he got there here's what my setup looked like:

We met Kyle at the place. He pulled an insane shift of 24 hours, took a short nap and was ready to ride

I'm thankful to Albie. Here he is cool, calm and collected

He's not afraid of and adventure

The way he got into that puddle... it's amazing he didn't drop the bike

The power rangers at the slaughter house

We were not the only ones getting stuck

This is too much for my Mefo Explorers

Lethal Dose runs MT21s. He ain't skeered

Though he tried to get out on his own,

He ended up using some help

Somebody needed to document the riding effort

We got to this mud hole that offered lots of sweat and slips

Even climbing out of it proved difficult

Riding through it wasn't any easier

That DR350 had reverse

But once again Albie came to the rescue

Albie, thanks a ton man!! I owe you more than a tube

Great Fun, but I'd suggest bringing a tow row/strap next time.

Looks like you guys had a lot of fun anyway!!

Good advice. I'll put something in my backpack next time though getting stuck is half the fun anyway

ive taken to carrying a tow strap in my camelback all the time, and the 950 has one under the seat.

Used it more often than expected.

I understand you are going to Broxton bridge with us?
