It's my first moto in a couple decades and I'm riding the heck out of it. Used for my daily commute, over 6000 miles since plating it last August. Biggest trip thus far was from Chicago to the Tail of the Dragon.

I think that I' m gonna ride my 80's era Honda Kick-N-Go for this ride. You think ground clearance will be an issue? :)

Not for you. Every time I see you go by the front wheel isn't on the ground. I would like to see you wheelie a kick-n-go.

Probably not make it. Better just sell it to me instead.

Maps

The map you really want to get is the MVUM (motor vehicle use map). The best part is they are free at the Forest Service offices in Harrisburg, Vienna, and Jonesboro depending on which way your coming in. It is the map that will keep you from getting a $500 ticket. A lot of roads have changed in the past year or two. Some roads are decommissioned and are no longer open to the public that still show up on older maps. You legally can't ride every road that shows up on a quad or forest map. The roads that show up as seasonally closed are going to be your most interesting routes. Most of them are dead end routes but there are quite a few that are through routes.

The only problem is if your not local you may need an additional forest map for referencing because they are not very detailed. That one will set you back around $10. I know they said everything is GPS'd but there is something nice about having another back up if something breaks or you wanna try something different before or after your track is ran.

It is a 3 ft by 4 ft map.

it basically is the southern tip from Rt 13 south witch is every thing we will be riding.

if you can read a map and know your direction it would be very hard to get lost

for anyone exploring the Shawnee it is a must, I have worn out 3 in 25 years.

I'm passing out in RBS's hauler. Cheating is the new black.

Going

Count me in. I bought my wife an XT225 and threw some knobs on it. Now i just need to mount the handguards and find time to teach her Gravel 101 and I'll have a plus 1.

Those with Nurse tanks, please lookout for stranded yellow Dizzers. I somehow hit reserve in only 58miles on Ride or Die.
