Went and took a look at bikes today. Came down to three candidates:

1) Triumph Sprint ST 1050
20 Honda 1300
3) Yamaha FJR 1300

The Triumph was may favourite but no room for Erin (top priority as we want to tour on the bike together long-distance).

The Honda was flat out "blah."

Gonna go take another longer look at the FJR oddly enough.....james, I might be bugging you!!

The FJR is a sweet bike - some minor mod's and you are road ready.

Good Luck in the search !

Yeah, I talked to bluesurf about it today. I figure we'd need a better rear shock and we'd have a good start.... Ill probably buy between now and January depending on what I find.

Should we start the "Dale & Stosh Thumper-watch" thread???

Speaking of the DRZ watch, I got home and the guy had sent and e-mail saying he called and then did not leave a message. His e-mail had a larger picture of the bike and the mileage I sent him and e-mail back when we got home and still have not heard from him

Stosh, you have any better luck

Yes we Should. If I don't get it (them) it the next 2 weeks it won't happen until about Nov-Dec as I have the big 2 week crusie going south for the 20th Anniversary in Oct.

You can add me to that list too. I'm not committed to a thumper, especially if I can find a "legal" 2 smoker.

I know where there is locally a street-licensed (but not legal, you'd need to add mirrors, etc) KDX 200, very well cared-for, tuned, and for sale.

PM or mail me for details.

So when do you want a test-ride? Hell, I've been considering selling it and getting one of those K12S's, anyway.
