Good stuff Trevor, we have to make some mid winter footage somehow.

Planning on it Tom. I really hope to get a ride in at least once a month this winter. Hoping to check out Farmington or Aztec in December. The Moab house is very available for us in the winter, and now it is well stocked with a 310 Husky and a 450 exc as a buddy bike.

I am so jealous, I would give my left nut to live in Telluride, what do you do for a living?

I came here as a ski bum/raft guide, but once I built a house and started a family I evolved into a Bitch to the Rich. I now do property management for a lot of the second homes in the area. Pay is decent, hours can suck, but it allows me some freedoms to enjoy my backyard!

so my goal of riding every month got thwarted by December being way too busy! Oh well, such is life. Started the year off right today, to make up for it. So maybe my year of riding every month starts now?
I rode with Vxzeroknots and a friend from Telluride today in northwestern New Mexico at a place called Pinon Mesa. We covered probably around 80 miles of mostly singletrack and some ATV track. Fun, flowy 2nd, 3rd gear kind of day, with a few things here and there to keep your attention. Perfect mid winter day to satisfy my moto craving for a bit!

You can see the Four Corners Region really well from some of the overlooks, so at one point we could see snowcapped peaks from Colorado, Arizona, Utah in the distance and be standing in New Mexico. Pretty cool!

Very happy to be able to live somewhere with so many recreational options year round!

so I think just getting another two days in January makes up for not riding in December. Just did a quick to trip to Moab with my boss, so we got some play time in at Slickrock and Fins N Things. Had to avoid a few snow patches, and a couple sketchy icy side hills, but all was good, and riding in 40 degree weather was quite pleasant.

He is really digging it now. Morgan at Highland Cycles just got it all setup for him, it should be a great woods weapon this winter. Rekluse clutch, left hand rear brake, scotts dampner, Mt 43 rear and tubliss front and back. We just did 2 days in Moab and he was very happy with the changes, and it really helped him have confidence on a lot of the obstacles.

So was just able to get two days on the bike for February. The snow has been good, so I wasn't sure if I would get out this month, but since the boss just got some upgrades, he wanted a midweek trip to try them out. Can't argue with that. Riding is always better than work. We put in a few hours yesterday, then headed down to Moab and rode Fins N Things and Porcupine Rim for the afternoon/evening...

From the Porcupine Overlook

A little snowy in some of the shaded areas still

Today we went for a good ride. Flat Pass going south, then Potato Salad Hill over to Behind the Rocks, and then Pritchett down, the easy way!

The first good ledge drop on Flat Pass..

A nice shot when you hit the Kens Lake Rd. There are some good petroglyphs at this spot, behind a fenced area, but unfortunately there is a lot of graffiti as well.

Some of the petroglyphs at this spot..

Nice shot by the cave on Behind the Rocks

the first drop coming down Pritchett

near the end of Pritchett. What a great day!

Been kind of slacking...I have gotten a lot of riding in, but my phone quit focusing so photos kind of suck...My new GPS supposedly has a camera feature, so we will see how that goes!

Here is one from my last trip to Moab, up around Sovereign trail.

This was from a few weeks ago, scouting out my backyard to see if the "easy road" from Fall Creek over to Beaver Park/Dunton area was open yet. Only a little snow, nice after work dirt road cruising! The photo is the backside of the Wilsons..

The good news is after all of our late snows, the San Juans are starting to open up! I rode some singletrack on the Uncompahgre Plateau last weekend and only had to cut and move a few trees. They were recent blow downs since the trail showed signs of recent chainsaw work. I hope to ride there again on Sunday or I might clear some trails around Rico...

Yay summer!
