Steer away from Deming, NM Nasty Cops!

If you get pulled over, make sure you don't appear to be clenching your buttocks.

That incident is incredibly disturbing. Hope the police chief loses his job as well as the officers involved.

How terrible! Did you notice at the end of the video they said the medical center sent him a bill for all of the procedures and is threatening him with collections if he doesn't pay??!?!?! So disturbing....

That's an amazing story...almost unbelievable...but...my "I can't believe that would happen card" is just about used up these days. From local authorities/government all the way to the top, there seems to be no end to the hubris displayed by many "in charge". What's happened to us as people in our treatment and honesty with each other?

On a technical note in this incident, the alleged "rolling of a stop sign" out of the Walmart parking lot was interesting. Now I realize this is taken from a news story, but that specific part sounds like it was taken directly from the police report of this incident. In most all states/cities, traffic laws/codes do not apply to traffic control devices and signs in parking lots...disabled parking spaces and such aside. In nearly all cases, the stop signs in and out of parking lots are not enforceable by law enforcement. Now, that doesn't mean that you can just pull out of private/business parking lots without regard to traffic on the roadway. You must still yield to any traffic already on that roadway that might constitute a hazard...a fail to yield right-of-way violation. Maybe he pulled out in front of a car, but you'd think law enforcement would clearly state such to show stronger cause for the initial traffic stop.

If this happened as stated, I'm also wondering if something else was at play here...like the "victim" being involved in drug dealing or such. Still, even with the possibility of dealing with a scumbag, law enforcement has to react with some kind of logic and common sense. I'm also amazed that a judge issued a search warrant in this case, at least by the described circumstances listed here. It will be interesting to see if the circumstances as stated continued to hold up over time. It's very disturbing on the surface.

In many ways NM is still the wild west. Not surprising to me that the judge would jump on board with whatever the cops want. Both he and the cops are paid by the county, the medical professionals work in the county, its just good business. They probably only accept cash payments for fines and penalties too.....

Aside from another Lincoln County War type situation, it will continue to slide that direction......

I don't like to venture South of I-40 anymore for these reasons and plan to move out of state for greener pastures as soon as possible.

meanwhile, while the cops and doctors are getting off on watching this guy shit all over the place, there was probably a truck with 500 lbs of meth rolling through town. Nice work fellas!!! I feel bad for the good cops out there. Are there still good cops out there?

I'm more amazed the medical center is sending him the bill, he never agreed to these procedures. Bill should be sent to the county that ordered them (aka police department).

I think this guy will walk with a nice settlement, probably from the county and probably another by the medical center for doing the procedure even though the warranty was no good int hat county.

I'll take a free scope to be checked out, i been eyeing the KTM 1190....LOL

Edited to say - Yep be an early one to leave a 1-star review through Google on the place...LOL
