Nope. And I don't plan on being in a hurry anyway. My expectation is to stroll along and enjoy the scenery. Once in a while, I'd like to stray off on some fun trails too, but that may have to happen on early camp days due to be loaded with gear...

Date change ideas?

Hi all,

Has anybody else come up with ideas for dates (if we're going to change them)?

I know we plan on discussing it further at the March meeting, but my wife has a really big work event in August and needs to iron out her vacation as early as possible. If we could just try to get it down to two or three options in the short term, we could at least block out her calendar around them...

Thanks! Sorry for any inconvenience.

Jim

I was thinking a little about this last night. While the dates don't matter to me, I think we should plan on leaving on a Monday morning. If we start on a Saturday, we may run into situations where gas stations will be closed on say Sunday.

If I get to where I can do this I stepped into a DR350 so the bike isn't an issue any more.

Getting more geared up still, a rack should be here in the next couple days, plan on building sides to fit on it. I was so far removed from riding it's been so long but I'm getting my skill set back pretty good with all the time I'm spending in the seat. That isn't a worry anymore like it was for me.
I don't know if I'll be able to take the time away from home to do the whole trip(the biggest issue for me) but I'm at least hoping I maybe can meet up somewhere along the way and ride along then loop back to my rig. IDK, thinking on screen here.

Hoping to spend a LOT more time in the seat over the next several months! I'm gearing up a bit too on both my XR and the wifes TW. Looking at the Acerbis handlebar mounted auxiliary fuel tank for the TW. XR subframe supports are arriving Friday!

Fuel hauling is one thing I haven't tackled yet, but I'll get there. Planning on doing some 1 to 3 night trips so I start getting my organizing figured out soon.

ps. haven't finished the thread yet so don't shoot me if it's posted.

Ha! :)

We haven't chosen a meeting date/time for next month yet....hopefully someone will propose something in the next few days. I have company in town this weekend and am busy the afternoon/evening of March 15th. Other than that I think I'm pretty open so far...

The majority of us here wanting to participate are closer to or in Portland, right? Would The Ram Resteraunt and Brewery on the west end of Salem next weekend work? Meaning the 8th.
