That section of route 3 should take us to (or past) the optional Power Line road. That's a lot of fun. I haven't looked at the maps for the other routes, but what do you guys think about some people doing the optional sections, then meeting up with the rest at the next waypoint? I'm fine either way.

Yeah like 11 or so. But the lake we're talking about is a ways away from Sisters.

Oh, ok. I hadn't put two and two together and realized the route was so far west of Sisters and then came to within 7 miles of it. You want to stick to the route out to Big Lake? I'd prefer start at Cold Springs like Rick suggested, and head south where the route crosses 242.

Another little way to save space is have everyone send their tire sizes. Certainly don't need six spare tubes when one or two will suffice. Same goes for tools. I think, as long as people bring what they agree to bring, its a good way to downsize.

Congrats to your nephew! Feel free to still join us for the last couple of days if it works out for you. If not, I'm sure we can plan another ride some other time.

If you don't start at Big Lake, you'll miss the Santiam Wagon Rd section, adjacent to the Wilderness. You most def DO WANT to do this section from Big Lake to Hwy 242. In fact, you should wanna start this most excellent and ancient two-track from Jack Pine rd at Hwy 58 near the big Hwys Santiam Junction, and ride it to Big Lake

I plan on doing this section on Sunday heading to the campground on 242.
