Just saw your thread and thought some photos of an OBCDR trip on Route 5 from CA to WA might interest you. http://pnelson.us/obcdrphotos/index.html

I'm planning on doing parts of the trip again this summer on a Super Tenere. Things I learned from last trip, ride less and spend more time stopping and seeing more. We also packed too many clothes and too much stuff. Go too soon in the summer and you'll have mud and snow. Too late and you'll have heat and fires.

Thanks for the GPX track, whoever posted it.

Sure would like to see the OBCDR paper maps, if anyone can bring them to the next Meet-n-Greet. I can bring my paper map of Rt 3. Just nice to get an see the comments they make in on the overlay. (Such as the extra challenging alternate routes. )

I think my way out might end up finding someone else that might want to go and go the week before or after. Reverse direction so we cross paths? Lol

Any chance you guys could bump the ride ahead 2 days to start on the 23rd? I could do 4 days then and scoot on home if so.

Currently, I wouldn't be able to do that. My wife is out of town on business the entire week prior to this trip. She will need that weekend to rest up and prepare for this trip. Hopefully we'll see you on the trail though if you can get out for a couple of days or so!

My calender says that matches August, and doesn't match the Sept wedding month.

April meetup

A couple of us are doing the alley sweeper on the 19th. How about we plan our monthly meeting that morning? I don't know what time the Sweeper starts, but perhaps a breakfast beforehand? If that doesn't work, feel free to pitch another date/time...

Sounds like a great idea. IDK if I can make it but great idea just the same! lol
I'm still wandering the web now and then looking for a location for this years Sweeper. Maybe it's the next web page away just after I quit each episode of searching.

You know...I don't think I've seen any specific locations either. I'm guessing it won't be difficult to find groups of DS's in downtown PDX though!
