LSHD-
Great ride and photos! Hope you got some PCH ( I'm partial to Big Sur over N. Cal Hwy 1) miles in while you out here, the weather has been FANTASTIC
Your tank bag- is it basically the same bag as the 950/990 bag? I have one and tried it on my 1190 R and was less than enthused...
How are your tires holding up?
Any issues? ( other than not being able to just keep riding...)
J

I jumped on the 1 in Santa Monica and never left it. Big Sur was amazing!

Assuming the tank bag is the same. I have no complaints with it.

TrailAttacks are holding up awesome. 5500 miles on them so far and just now showing some signs of wear down the middle.

Where are you in Chile? As soon as my bike lands in Bs.As. I'll be heading straight into Chile to check the last of Paris Dakar.

This might be a new world record for miles travelled by an 1190 without being towed into a dealership.

agreed about Hwy 1 from Carmel to Hearst Castle. Hwy 1 north of SF is also great, but slightly behind the southern section.
You got lucky with our weather. We have been about 10 degrees warmer than normal.

Az to SF

PatSmith is right on- from San Simeon to Carmel is the best, tho NorCal has some awesome riding as well... There are also some great fire roads -south Coast Ridge Rd that-"parallel" the PCH up on the top. The 1190 would be the perfect bike for that...
Nice to hear the Contis hold up nicely, I was afraid with all the ponies on tap that the bike would eat tires like my sport bikes used to.
Maybe I was trying to position my bag too close to the front of the tank...
Great ride, more pics, please!

Touratech Panniers are awesome. If I was forced to complain about them I would pick that they seem to make the exhaust resonate a little bit. But I don't care. No issues with speed or instability so far. Coming back across the desert I had a terrible crosswind and I was cruising at 90-95 without issue.
