The big question for every football fan in 2014......

....how many teams from the SEC will complete for the new championship?

One site has six contenders. Linky

Alabama, Biggest question: Who will replace QB AJ McCarron?
Auburn, How much will Nick Marshall’s passing game evolve?
Georgia, How much will the defense improve under Todd Grantham?
Missouri, Who will replace Kony Ealy and Michael Sam’s production?
South Carolina, What’s a bigger concern: replacing Shaw or replacing three defensive linemen, including Clowney and Quarles?
LSU, How/who will LSU replace production from Mettenberger, Landry and Beckham?

The Aggies aren't mentioned except as being on certain teams' schedule.

Correct this. A&M and 'Bama both have the same problem, replacing outstanding QB's. Just based on that, I think 'Bama's preseason #2 in this guys fantasy is a tad lofty.

Go to the 2:35:13 mark here and listen to the announcer. For some reason, I remember that remark to this day.

I don't follow Alabama closely but I'm sure they have a worthy QB candidate waiting in the wings.

A&M - no idea. I suspect they're screwed. No QB and a paper-thin defense.

Lane Kiffin interviewing at Alabama?

Seems like a win/win for me. Alabama get Lane and USC gets not to have him.

How long was Charlie Strong in Louisville?
That's not the point. The point is that they're willing to let back in a guy who absolutely humiliated his AD and his school. A guy who is a proven liar, adulterer and carpetbagger.

College football's poobahs pontificate about the student-athlete and amateurism and character. They're full of shit. Moves like this underline how corrupt they really are, how they say one thing but mean the exact opposite.

Louisville's AD is a big cheese in the NCAA, a megaphone of the phony message. That he's the one who is rehiring Petrino puts an exclamation point on the system's hypocrisy.

I'd have to say that Nick Saban has never had an outstanding QB. He has game managers who occasionally make big throws. But he has never had a guy who can consistently carry the team on his back. Nor does he really want one. He likes a power game on both sides of the ball. So I don't think he'll have a hard time slotting a new body behind center.

Georgia's another matter entirely. Neither of their lines is ever as dominant as Alabama's are. They often rely on the QB to rescue them. Replacing Murray is a Big Deal and until that's sorted, rating them highly is suspect.

One final point on Petrino. Louisville is moving to the ACC next year. This hire was clearly done with an eye to that. Jurich wants to establish his school as an ACC power before Petrino leaves. Then he'll be in a position of strength when he looks for his next head coach.

I understand it. I just hate it.

At first I was wondering about all the hate for ole Bobby, and then it clicked, you're from Atlanta.

Hell, I hate the sumbitch as much as anybody, but like I said before it makes perfect sense for Louisville to hire him.

Perfect sense, but only when viewed through a very narrow set of blinkers.

Err I think you mean "BLINDERS", And the high dollar boosters that only care about the wins are the ones that wear them. They're also the ones that call the shots. And Louisville ain't the only one that has em.

Hey, it is not Bobby's fault that Atlanta was a bad fit for him, he had to quit early. It was not his fault the bitch fell off, she needs to learn to hold on in a slide. It is not his fault that L'ville wants him back.....

Hell, he has a perfect record for politics.
