Wow

Epic Ride today

What a great time Rick, Dave & Emma.

The Cascades were stunning and the Three Sisters were beautiful to see.

Wow - what a cool looking ride! Bring maps Tuesday, Righty. I'm guessing this is somewhere up on that ridge between the South Santiam drainage and the McKenzie drainage?

South on FS 15

Then South on FS1506 to Fissel Point.

Beers made by walking

Hey chaps! Our beers made by walking date is coming up and we need to plan a ride for next weekend. Quick reminder, we need to go out and harvest some wild herbs/spices to use in a batch of beer. We can buy additional spices, but they need to be things that we can find in oregon, preferably the willamette valley....any botonists out there...?

Never did get any feed back from my suggestion / connection to my cousins herb patch, The Thyme Garden in Alsea.
EZPZ picking with positive I.D. of plants.
Mints and ....well....just all kinds of additives.

Even for hangovers !

Sorry digger! Thyme garden is awesome, and a great place to buy some extra her age. Only thing is we're supposed to identify things we find in the wild, then buy extra if we need to. Going straight to the garden may be slightly cheaterish...

Yeah, I mean without somebody who's seriously qualified to ID edible plants, how do we avoid poisoning everybody? (Except Digger and me, that is...since he's not taste-testing and I don't drink beer.)

For starters, we pick easy things like raspberries and yarrow. Blackberries, wild cherries, etc. 2nd, looking for someone with experience as we speak....

Yarrow? WTF is yarrow?

You see how I'm the wrong guy for this job. I might be able to ID a blackberry...no guarantees. Maybe I can be slave labor picking the stuff someone else has ID'ed.
