The crash sucks, but glad it wasn't serious and good to see you riding your bike in the conditions it was meant to be ridden in.

Also, nice choice in boots. I wear with MX boots of the Forma Adventures and and they are a well balanced boot. Glad to hear they performed their duty for you.

Update

Well went in and they were very busy......the tech cut the cast off, I went for xrays, returned and the PA came in and asked what he could do for me I said give me a cam boot and send me on my way......very busy in there.....busy busy busy......out the door I go with a cam boot.

Still painful but I am out of the cast Hated that damn thing. They said come back in 4 weeks and see us.......uhhhhh sure I can live with the cam boot and I am wearing it .....mostly. Just going to take time to fully heal.

Woo Hoo

glas to see you on the mend!

..did that on a dirt road during a rain on my GS with stock tires. Broken ankle.

Physical therapy and lots of it will get you back fast, also take a lot of vitamin D and calcium. D helps the calcium uptake.

My boots were Aerostitch's Combat Lites (made by Sidi).

I'll be buying stiffer boots when I get the scratch together.

Let it heal properly.

I broke mine 3 years ago (after snowboarding all day). I slipped funny after walking out of the garage and everything went to the ankle. At the time I thought it was just a sprain.

Left 3 months later to Afghanistan and lived out of a pack for a year, ankle kept re-spraining (it was fractured). I then came home and it felt better for a bit working in an office. But a 3 week trip to NTC at Fort Irwin hobbling around the desert convinced me to finally get it checked out, it was broken and kept refracturing because I was to stubborn to let it rest.

I finally kept weight off the thing for as long as the Doctor's recommended and It's been fine every since.

Broken ankles are pretty inconvenient but it's worse if you don't let it heal properly the first time.

You know you're going to catch hell for the cast not being KTM orange, right?

Hope you heal up ok. Don't rush it.

To supplement the new tires I would add a good pair of Motocross boots, necessary gear riding a big heavy DS bike. Without them, even a 0 mph get off can break your ankle. My SIDI Crossfires have saved me multiple broken ankles FWIW.
