Giant Loop signed a sponsorship agreement with South African Brett Cummings, also know as Rallyerider, to his 'book Friends. Our connection to Brett came through our South African partner, Chris at Desert Lizard. Thanks Chris and Brett for the support!!

Brett is joining the Giant Loop Team as a racer and test rider after finishing 28th place overall and 2nd in the Malle Moto Class, in the 2014 edition of Dakar. His previous Rally Raid experience includes finishing 43rd in 2013 edition of Dakar, 7th in the Merzouga 2012 and 4th in the Australasian Safari 2012.

You can follow Brett's training, race prep and progress on his 'book page, linked above, or on his Twitter feed, @Rallyerider.

Giant Loop Rider: Richard rides his BMW G650X Challenge and Suzuki Wee-Strom with Diablo Tank Bag and Coyote Saddle Bag.

Richard wrote in to ask if we had any 2013 Tank Bag Harnesses left, so he could add one to his latest bike. He has two harnesses already, one on the Wee and one on the BMW G450X, but he wanted another one for his new DL1000. I was glad to find that we had a few left and could fill his need.

Announcing a new Mojavi Saddle Bag program from "Powered by Giant Loop"!
In the spirit of our special edition yellow "Mojavi for Medics", we are offering a gray Mojavi that can be customized with logos or names for Event Organizers and Volunteers. Volunteers are what keep motorcycling events, rides and races alive and on the schedule. Giant Loop would like to say thanks to everyone that takes time out of their lives to volunteer and support a motorcycling event or race, with this new program. We know how handy it is to have a Mojavi on the bike, to keep essentials and water within easy reach, while out of base camp working an event.

Hit the link to the application in our blog post!

Mark at SierraNevadaAdventures.com is always posting up great pics on his F-book page of KTM 990 ADVentures with GL strapped to the back. I had to grab a couple from his PCH ride last month, to share in this post. He makes good use of the Siskiyou Panniers on that bike.

Terrence Tay's "Anywhere But South" Tour

GL rider Terrence Tay is currently in Burma on his "Anywhere But South" tour of Asia on a BMW F800GS Adventure.

"Btw, I'm officially the first rider to go at it alone in Burma, albeit with an escort car and tourism official (mandatory)," Terrence wrote in a message to GL.

This article is about his gear choices.

NWBoarder was at the EuroMoto show in Seattle and snapped this shot. Looks like that bike needs some "custom finish work" and a set of TKC80's, from our friends at Moto Corsa in Portland, Oregon. I think it would be a proper challenge to their BEAST, aka Terra Corsa. Plus it is flavored with Orange Koolaid, my favorite!

Riaan van Niekerk shared this pic, from Dakar 2014 Stage 3, on his Facebook page. The track looks very hazardous...
His comment was:
"Found this pick on twitter. This was part of this years Dakar route. This was nearly at the top of the mountain at 4300m. And yes..., we were on rally bikes that weigh just under 200kg when it's filled up. Bike had no power up there and the altitude made me gasping for air. Think it would be a great idea to enter the roof this year on my rally bike to prep for dakar 2015"

Sikiyou Panniers, Buckin Roll II, and Bart!!!

I did a couple mods to the Sikiyou panniers, I wanted a clean seat for SWMBO and to clean up how she looks without the dry bags. I simply cut the flaps off and left enough to act as a mud shield as my idea of Starbucks isn't paved. I leave for a 4,000 mile trip to AZ and UT in 9 days so I am in the final stages of bike prep. Once I have all the gear sorted and loaded I will post up pics, as well as pics along the way during the ride.

Tidy up a few things and off I go.

Safe travels,

SOP Dirt-rider, that is some serious custom work! Looks sharp.

"The 2-Stins Wrecking Crew" got some time out on the trail, Friday, testing Giant Loop development product. While we were out, I snapped a couple of pics of D'Stin while he was circling the test site. BNR2, on KTM 500 EXC with Acerbis 5.3 gallon tank.
