Pro Bowl

Shit idea. Always has been.

I got to see a few when I was a kid because a guy at my dad's work who had season tickets to the Rams would give away his (included in the package) unwanted Pro Bowl tickets. The stadium was always half empty.

I have no interest in it. Nobody playing gives a fuck about it and half the people that make it dont even go. They need to axe it.

I don't think I've ever watched more than 10 minutes (real time not football time) of one.

I see that, but taken in the moment it is intended, it is fun to watch them cut loose a little and play a sandlot game.

It is not that well followed and they keep threatening not to do it, but they keep doing it. If they do away with it, what about those contract incentives? There would be some unhappy campers......

The pro bowl is like watching players doing light tackle drills in training camp. No thanks.

I try to watch it but quickly lose interest, it is too much of an after- thought. The players aren't going to risk injury in a meaningless game. I don't know why they even show the game unless it brings in the T.V. ratings?

Like the NHL All Star game.

Nobody wants to have or cause an injury.

Half-hearted play and some fooling around.

They should just do a production of "West Side Story".

Being a Hawaii resident the best thing I see in it is the players visiting local schools and involved in the community, it's good in that respect because we don't get that like their home cities do. Some local people go religiously, again because its their only chance to see the players.

OTOH, I've never watched it or will.

Now that 70s show that NBC(?) created pitting the NFL "All Stars" against the MLB "All Stars" was way different, we got super good deals on the Kawasaki Jetskis they used one year when it was over one year. Come to think of it, I never watched that either, the skis we learned about from a friend that did water safety for the filming.

Just heard that 9 San Fran players declined to go. 2 of them had injuries though so lets call it an even 7. I think the format needs changed somehow, but I don't have any answers.

Instead of stuffing around with 25K which is probably peanuts for them, the game should be at leash 100K for the winners and nothing but expenses for the losers. It might be interesting then

I think that replacing the football players with nfl cheerleaders would possibly be watchable, but the current format sure isn't.

Skin to win...

They should make it an honorary game. No actual game, just a status thing.

Great idea, and to go along with the concept each nominated player would receive a $25,000 donation made to their high school for education not sports if they showed up to present the cheque.

The schools of the players would have to submit in advance what the 25 K would be used for so no surprises after the fact.
