what a great place to ride. Slick Rock was such a blast and very scenic.

Now, after reading this and looking at the pictures it makes me want to go back again.

Slick Rock--Here I come!

After seeing the pictures, I think Slick Rock and Fin and Things are must do.
Thanks friends, and keep posting ideas and pictures!

Be there April 6-April 10th with WRT Tuesday April 8th 2014.
The rides on BLM lands will be in small groups of 5-6 riders. We want to obey all rules and regulations of non-organized rides.
Thanks

Here's one along White Rim Trail.

Very Nice---I have heard that Sovereign Trail is very technical. I am just starting to resign to the fact that I will be attempting Slick Rock and Fin N Things.

Thanks

A little north of town is one of my favorite Moab rides, Monitor and Merrimac. Check it out, it is not overly difficult, you can do it, very scenic and quite varied.

Slickrock was pretty fun today!
It is even better when you aren't doing icy sidehills!

No Friggin' way---Riding in January while in Michigan we have a horrible Winter storm. But enjoying all these hints and pictures.

Thanks All,
Keep them coming. Otherwise, it will be a long way off to April.

the little ski town I live in here in the San Juans is one of the best locations I think. Great skiing, but when I need a mid winter fix, plenty of nearish options. Moab is about 2hrs away to the west, or just this past Sunday I rode an area northwest of Farmington, NM that had 50ish temps, dusty, and we covered probably 80 miles of mostly singletrack, and only saw two other riders. Now we are getting some moisture and it will be back to powder turns for the weekend!

Monitor/Merrimac was a good suggestion. Also in that same area, 7 mile rim only had a few challenging spots and lots of good overlooks!
Sovereign has a good variety. The really technical climbs are actual marked "Extremely Difficult" or something like that, and there are lots of other ways around. Just following the ATV trails, or working your way out to Cedar Mesa or railing the long sand wash, you could spend a great day out there. There is even gas at the trailhead on the southern end at Archview Campground.

Let's please keep the white rim trail on the menu for one of the days, us FL touristy types would like to claim "we rode that"

Stupid question---how does one climb a rock step without hitting their skid plate and destroying the motor. I could not climb above this step on Chicken Corners and had to turn back.
