Yes please and is this another overloaded lot like the racesite? Or is there plenty of room? Do we need to call ahead? Who runs the area? The D100 area is fine but just too cramped and random.

Regarding donation amount, I do not know as it is not under Desert 100 control.

It is a large grass field owned by the School district that have offered up some quiet camping. From what I gather, only half a dozen rigs/trucks used this last year.

Let me see if I can get a contact # for all.

The off-site campground is run by Odessa School District. Contact is 509-988-0285.

Regarding donation amounts, again, I do not know what proper etiquette would be for amount. I do know that the funds collected go directly to the sports teams for equipment, uniforms, etc...

I sent in my papers for the DS ride on Sat as well as the ADV Race on Sunday. Chet with PSSOR has emphasized the importance to this genre of riding and it's future at the Odessa weekend.
I am riding it only, not ever raced before, just hoping to challenge myself some and not seriously break any major components to me or the bike. Who wants to help bring up the rear-rear of the pack with me? Ha!

Jeff

Thinking about doing it if my bike is done in time. We will see.

I'm there! First race and same goals of challenging myself, not breaking anything, and finish....safely.

Received my confirmation of preregistration several days ago.

It seems that most injuries, certainly mine, have not been when "pushing" myself but when you're bopping along in total control and all of the sudden a rock grabs your front tire and you break your collar bone. Do your best to come home uninjured but know that it is somewhat random.

Awfully quiet here...insert sounds of crickets.

Week away and the question is: Is the bike ready?

I am just getting over the NORO virus so I'm not sure how ready I am.

Almost finished with prepping the bike.

I called about using the baseball fields for camping and here is the deal: Any donations made will go to the sport program, and Larry will be around on Friday afternoon to check in and see how things are going and collect cash.

Bike is almost ready - spooning on a new front tire this weekend, and after one more play/practice i'll be taking off all the unnecessary and breakables (mirrors, license plate and bracket, etc.) and doing the loctite thing. Just small stuff.

Wouldn't dream of leaving it at home. Just hoping I can finish in a decent enough time that I don't miss out on too much good footage when the battery runs out lol

School grounds...

....are there going to be any issues with having alcohol on school property?

I'm just going to call that a gray area. As long as I don't act like an ass I think I'll get away with it.

In other news "race prep" continues
